Chapter 12-
Babysitting Gone WRONG

My heart pounded against my chest as I made my way across the street to Lucas's house.

The last thing I wanted to do was see him , but I couldn't back out at the last minute. After all, Ms. Brewing had to work and she wouldn't be getting off until late tonight.

I didn't bother to change my school clothes, which was a blue and red halter top with skin tight blue jeans and sandals.

I took a deep breath as I walked up to the front door when I noticed that there were two cars parked in the driveway, and I knew that they weren't Lucas's because he always parks in his garage.

Suddenly, I felt a blast of fresh air in my face.

"Are you just going to stand there like an idiot? Or were you going to knock?" said an annoyed Lucas as he stood in the doorway.

I looked down at the ground at a loss for words.

"What the hell are you doing here anyways?" he asked me as he was preparing to close the door in my face.

"W-wait. I'm here to um-I'm here to um babysit H-Haley." I managed to choke out.

I was suddenly aware of how nervous Lucas made me.

He stared at me for a moment before he gave me space to come in.

He closed the door behind me and headed up the stairs.

"Whatever. Just don't bother me." he said as he disappeared up the staircase.

I sighed.
I know we hadn't talked in days, but was this treatment really necessary?

I wondered to myself as I ran a hand through my hair.

I went into the kitchen to find Haley.

When I didn't see her, I turned around to leave out.

"Jenny!" I heard, and turned around to face an overly excited Haley.

"Haley!" I mimicked her, just like always.

She ran into my arms and I picked her up and gave her a big hug.

"What do you want to do today?" I asked her as I sat her back down on the ground.

"Let's play dress up!" she said, dragging my hand along with her around the corner, up the stairs, and down the hallway.

She let go of my hand as she ran into her room.

I suddenly stopped when I heard voices coming from what I think was Lucas's room.

"Whats got your sister so excited?" a voice asked.
Reece.

"She's got a babysitter." I heard Lucas mumble.

"Is she hot?" Reece asked back.

"Dude. Its Jenny." Lucas said.

"Well then she is hot!" Reece said and I heard him slap hands with someone and I heard many voices snicker.
