New House, New Attitudes, & New Guys

"This is our last day of school." Lizzie told her best friend, Samantha as we entered the building.

They walked away from me to go find the rest of their stuck up friends.

As I approached my locker, my best friend Emma appeared around the corner.

"Hey Jenny!" she screamed out as I opened my locker, and she flipped her long brown hair.

"Hey Em." I responded.

"I can't believe this is your last day Jenny. I'm going to miss you soooo much." she told me as she wrapped me in a big hug.

I stiffened out a laugh.

"Relax Em. We still have our cell phones, and we'll video chat all the time." I reassured her.

She nudged me and nodded her head across the hallway.

I looked over and saw Lizzie and her friends staring at us, murmuring.

"Still twin feuding?" Emma asked as she looked from me to Lizzie, then back to me again.

"Call it what you want. But I'm still fed up with Elizabeth and her crap." I told her.

Emma rolled her eyes at me and then took out her phone and checked herself in the screen.

Yes, my best friend was full of herself, but she was absolutely nothing like Elizabeth.

Unlike her , Emma was caring and down to earth.

Just then, Chad Evans walked around the corner and Emma and I  laughed to ourselves as we watched Lizzie and her friends try and fix themselves up.

As I turned around to take the last of my books out of my locker, I felt someone tap me on my shoulder.

I turned around to meet the eyes of none other than Chad.

"Hey Penny." he said and flipped his hair.

How unattractive.

"Its Jenny. " I told him and crossed my arms across my chest.

"Whatever. Anyways, I was wondering would you come to the lake with me and a couple of friends this weekend." he said, then flipped his hair again.

"Thanks, but no thanks." I told him, then I flipped my hair, and grabbed Emma's arm and pulled her down the hallway leaving him stunned.

The ride to the new house was excruciating.

The entire way there Lizzie complained and made lists and reasons on why Chad should have asked her out and not me.

After I told her to shut her disgusting mouth, she got quiet though.

When we finally pulled up in the driveway of our new house, I had to admit that for us to be in a financial struggle, this house was amazing.

It loomed over us like a mansion and the inside was even better.

But of course, Lizzie had to complain about something.

"Why does Jenny get the room with the balcony?" she complained to mom, as she pouted and folded her arms across her chest.

"Yeah!" said Riley, scowling at me.

"Because I trust Jenny not to sneak out in the middle of the night." she said with an eyebrow raised at Riley.

"And because Jenny deserves it." she said, narrowing her eyes at Lizzie.
