Today was Friday. As usual, I loved Fridays because it was the last day of the week before the weekend started. We were out of school today, because of some teacher work day thing. Not that I was complaining.

As I sat sprawled on my bed, I flipped nervously through the book of different hair colors that Brailey had given me. Honestly, I was tired of being blonde. I mean, I was natural but I thought that it may be fun for my hair to be a different color for a while.

Turns out, I actually did have to babysit Haley today. She was out of the hospital at the moment and Mrs. Brewing had an emergency meeting at work. I was looking forward to seeing Haley. I've really missed her. It was only 10 am, and I had to be over by 4. So naturally, Brailey ever-so-friendly insisted that I let her dye my hair before I had to leave. By insisted I mean saying that I "absolutely had to let her or I would be the worlds worst best friend."

Go figure.

"Will you hurry already?" Brailey complained as she looked over my shoulder into the book.

"Don't get your panties in a twist." I told her continuing to flip through the book.

This was it.

I stopped on a page that had a beautiful brown color.

"This is it. This is what I want." I said excitedly as I jumped up from my bed with the book.

She snatched the book from my hands and stared down at the page.

"Jenny this is absolutely perfect for you." she said as she gave me a huge smile.

I cheered in response and we both began jumping up and down on my bed.

"We should really get this started you know." Brailey said in between giggles.

"You're right."

I was so excited. I wasn't going to be blonde Jenny anymore. I was going to be brown Jenny.

I made my way across the street with loads of worry. Brailey had gone home a little while ago, Lizzie was up in her room with Jackson, and Riley was out with Josh. I hadn't talked to Lucas since the carnival, and I knew things were going to be more awkward than usual.
