QOTC :

Why did Lucas help Jenny with Riley?

Chapter 11

Adolescents & Attitudes

So it turns out that Riley hadn't broken her leg, just sprained her ankle.

I was in trouble for leaving the house in the middle of the night without telling my parents the situation, but it blew over because it was for a good cause.

Lizzie somehow found another reason to be mad at me, but this time she dragged Riley into it.

She came barging into my room where I was currently sprawled across my bed, with my earphones in.

It was a Wednesday afternoon, and after another cheer leading practice, I was tired so normally I came home and took a shower.

"I can't believe this!" she screamed as she stomped over to my bed with her arms folded.

"What's your deal this week?" I asked her as I sat up in my bed, kind of bored with the whole situation.

"I cannot believe that Riley called you instead of me on that night! I mean, she doesn't even like you. I could have came and picked her up, but she called you and not me!"

I sighed and ran a hand through my long hair, which was wet at the moment.

"Listen Elizabeth. Give me a break. Every week its something different with you. Nothing ever satisfies you. You constantly find something to complain about. The only thing you should be looking at is that Riley is OK. She could have been seriously hurt. It doesn't matter who she called. You think she was sitting there debating on which of her twin sisters to call? She was scared and upset and she just wanted to get home. So stop bitching about everything you just have to find a problem with and get a life Lizzie. Get it?" I ranted as I stared her straight into the eyes.

"Sure whatever." she mumbled as she folded her arms and looked down at the floor.

"Good. Now get out of my room." I said as I put my earphones back in and sprawled back on my bed like I was before.

I turned my music up on full blast but not before hearing my door slam.

Lucas's POV

I felt my controller vibrate as I threw a punch to Jackson's player in the video game we were playing.

"Dude, that's bullshit!" Jackson screamed as he threw his controller down.

I laughed in victory as my name flashed across the screen as the 'winner'.

I got up from the couch in my room and walked over to my window.

I stared across the street.

When I looked up, I was looking directly at Jenny's house.

It caused me to start thinking about Saturday/Sunday when the whole incident with Riley took place.

She had thanked me for my help, but it was Wednesday and we hadn't talked since she came over to help me watch Haley on Sunday afternoon.

"Cheer leading practice was great today bro. They really made a good move choosing those hot new girls." Reece was saying to Brody and Jackson, who had made his way over to where they where sitting.
