CHAPTER SIXTY ONE

Ishita was sitting on the bed her mother by her bedside as she got ready to meet the stranger. When he walked in she couldn't believe her eyes, she didn't know what to say or how to act or if he even knew who she was. I mean he was really here

'Oh My God, what the...'' she murmured to which her mother answered

'Best behavior Ishu, you promised...'' Murmured Mrs. Iyer smiling at the guests

'Ishu this is Rajeev, his wife and his mother... Everyone...Ishita...'' Said Abhimanyu as he finally walked to where Mrs. Iyer was seated getting a front row seat to all the awkwardness that was happening in the room right now

'Hello...'' Ishita suddenly said

'Hello, how are you feeling now...'' Said Rajeev

'Much better thank you... And thank you for whatever you have done for me and my family...'' she said humbly

'Am sure if the tables had turned someone out there would do the same for me...'' said Rajeev

'No am pretty sure they wouldn't...'' SaidMihika jokingly which caused all of them to chuckle a little except Ishita

'You do seem better than the last time I saw you...'' said Rajeev's wife but Ishita just stayed staring at them

'Well with all the narcotics they pump in her body, she isbound to feel good since she is high half the time...'' Mihika joked again hoping to just calm the tension in the room and it was working

'Mihika that is not funny...'' Said Ishita

'It kind of is since it is kind of true...'' Said Abhimanyu laughing which caused everyone to laugh and Ishita to smile as well.

Ishita was really good at hiding her emotions, sometimes she could be a really hard book to read when she wanted to be. She had promised her mom she would try and be polite and so she would do just be that. Although as she would later realize, it was going to be hard

Rajeev thought she didn't know him and didn't know whether to be elated or sad because it made it even harder to tell her. Whatever the case was he was going to milk this moment, make the most of it.

He was actually standing in a room with his daughter; he had a daughter with the most amazing woman he had ever known. He had a lot of regret because even he knew that he took the easy way out.

It petrified him to go against his family so when he his mom came and said Anjali had run away after she was paid, he believed her because it was the easier option than fighting against his family

'Why did you help me?'' he suddenly heard Ishita ask

She knew he was either going to lie through his teeth or he for once was going to have to stand up and take responsibility and just speak the truth

'It was the right thing to do. Besides I felt like I owed you that much...'' answered Rajeev

'Oh really... Why is that...'' she asked again giving a window to say something and even then, he didn't

'I don't know, I just did. I felt like a part of me existed in you...'' he answered as he came and sat next to her making Mrs. Iyer move aside saying

'I will go grab Ishita something to eat, any of you want something...'' she asked

'No we are good thank you...'' Answered Rajeev's wife and with that Mrs. Iyer walked out

Ishita turned her head to the side as she tried to look at the lady who was standing behind everyone without saying anything. She remembered her, she was the woman who showed up at her house and a few days later her mother decided that they move to Lucknow. She remembered her mother crying so much that day but couldn't tell her what the matter was. She looked at her and then at Rajeev and said
