"Splashkit, do you promise to uphold the warrior code with your life?"

"I do."

"Very well, then. From this day forward, you will be known as Splashpaw, until you recieve your warrior name," scanning the crowd, he picked out a warrior. "Oceanwater will train you. He has learned all their is to be a warrior, and will pass that on to you."

Splashpaw, giddy with enthusiasm, bopped his nose to Oceanwater, and marched right to the gateway.

"No, no, silly! We're going to the beach first. You'll have a full day of swimming tommorow, once you know where you'll be going." Oceanwater cradled Splashpaw with his tail, dragging him from the currents. Splashpaw marched up with him to the rough sand.

It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Sand coated the beach, but not like the sand in the camp. This sand was cleaner, shinier, and drier. A crab scuttled across, vanishing into a hole. Just past the sand was green grass. It stretched far into the setting sun.

"This is the beach, as well as the Meadowclan border. Do you smell that stench?" Splashpaw inhaled, and nodded. "That's their scent. If you're not careful, you'll smell it a lot. Meadowclan has wanted the beach from us for generations. We have it at this moment, but three moons ago, we battled hard. Meadowclan was trying to take it from us. We won that time, and Meadowclan didn't get the territory."

Splashpaw, again giddy, started to peer at the ocean.

Countless tail-lengths of water stretched out before him. In the distance, waves splashed down on the water. Dirt ran along the border, creating it for them. One island sat, near to the camp with just a bit of distance of swimming in between. New sprouts were growing in all kinds of places. Splashpaw couldn't see the medicine cat, but he knew she lived there from stories.

"That's the island. You know a lot about that. Far over to the end of the border, right in front of it, is the fast currents. Many currents stretch from that point. They speed through the water, and they're really easy to follow."

"The last thing I have to show you is the danger zone. No cats land. In between the border to Mountainclan and the border to Darkclan. The water has hazardous poisens and gunks you have never experienced. The currents coil and stretch in zigzags and loops. Once a cat goes there, coming out won't be easy. They'll be shoved and pushed around with a stinging sensation in their flesh. Sooner or later, they'll perish."

Splashpaw shivered. He vowed to never go their. Not one day of his life. Turning back to his mentor, he returned to his happy state.

"Let's go swim to the fast currents!" He exclaimed. Oceanwater shook his head.

"The sun is setting, my friend. It's time we go back. You learned a mightily lot today. Tommorow, we'll learn to swim. I'll teach you to swim to the island. We'll look around there for a bit before doing some drills. Then, we'll return home. I just wanted to show you the camp, since you're ceramony was near night anyway." They padded back into the camp.

Tired and hungry, he chose a piece of salmon and finished it quickly. Laying in a heap, he collasped in a nest at random, not bothering to check out his new roommates. Soon, he was asleep in a dreamless state. Nothing was going to ruin tommorow.
