Chapter 30: The second task

After an amazing night i went to my bed and slept with a smile on my face. When i woke up i got dressed and went to the great hall for breakfast. I found the trio and sat with them.
"Good morning." I greeted sitting down and they all smiled at me. I kissed Harry on the cheek and sat next to him.
"Did you figure out the egg?" I asked him and he sighed and shook his head eating his food.
"I'm sorry I wish I knew a way to help you." I said and he gave me a side hug.
"Even if you did I don't think you could help me." He said and he was right i wouldn't tell him because the rules said that he had to work on their own.
"Hey did you try putting it in the water?" i asked him and he looked at me like i didn't know what i was talking about.
"No. Why did that idea come to your mind?" He said then asked like he knew i was up to something.
"Well when the screeching that it did once I think it's a mermaid screech." I said and he looked at me with a look that said why didn't you say something.
"Why didn't i think of that?" Hermione whined.
"Maybe it's because you busy snogging Krum." Ron grumbled shoving a mouthful of food in him mouth. Wait a minute did i miss something?
"No one asked for your opinion Ronald!" Hermione snapped getting up and leaving. I turned to look at Harry.
"I'll tell you later." He whispered and I nodded going back to my food.

After breakfast I walked around the school on my own looking around and seeing if everything's ok. I was also looking around for Rita skeeter since I know she's around the school even though she's band. I think she transfigured herself into an insect to get some gossip in the school about the champion.
"Homenum Revilio." I said and nothing revealed that there were any human's around. I knew that I was alone. Then i silently walked around just enjoying the cold weather.
"ALex." I heard someone call I turned around and found Cedric running up to me.
"Hey?" I said and gave him a hug.
"I didn't see you after the party but I did saw you talking to Malfoy what was that about?" He asked and i rolled my eyes.
"He was just telling me that i was using Embry to make him Jealous." I told him and he laughed.
"If only he knew." He smirked at me.
"I told him." I smirked back at him and he laughed harder.
"That must of shut him up." He said.
"It did. Hey did you figure out the egg?" I asked him.
"Yeah I just putted it in the water." He told me. I was right about telling Harry it was probably Mermaids telling him the clue that means the second task is in the Black lake.
"Did you know what the clue is?" I asked and he nodded. For a Hufflepuff he's smart. Nothing against Hufflepuff or anything.
"Yeah the task is in the black lake where i will have something important taken from me and it will be found in the black lake." He said and I nodded.
"Don't tell Harry though I think he should figure it out on his own." He said.
"I won't but I'll give him clues. I won't help him research though." I told him and he nodded.
"Well lets get you inside before you catch a cold." He said wrapping his arm around me shoulder. We walked towards the castle and Cedric came with me to my Common room.
"Make yourself right at home." I said sitting by the fire.
"I just realized we may be Best friends but I never saw your common room." He said and i laughed.
"Before I told everyone who I was this use to be my room over the summer you know besides going to the weasley's.
"It's really nice. So where do the shapeshifters stay?" He asked and I pointed to him to the staircase that leads to their rooms that not to far from my room.
"And they all fit in there?" He asked curiously.
"Well Cedric we're in a magical school." I said sarcastically.
"So where's Embry?" He asked looking around.
"Pack business." I said and he nodded.
"He's really busy with the pack then." He guessed and I nodded.
"Yeah weather it's here helping my father or it's back in Laa push. He's pack is very important to him." I said and Cedric nodded.
"So how are you with Cho?" I asked smirking.
"We're ok?" He blushed and i laughed.
"She looks like she really loves you." I said and he shook his head.
"I'm not looking for anything serous anyway she's young and I'm leaving this year so yeah." He shrugged and i smiled at him.
"But do you care about her?" I asked couriusly.
He was silent for a while then answered me seriously. "Yes." I smiled and placed me head on his shoulder.
"It's ok to love someone you know." I said smiling at him.
"I know but I don't know if I'm coming out of this alive." He said and thats when i realized what all of this is.
"Ced don;t say that I'm still worried about Harry and you." I said looking straight at him and he sighed and pulled me in for a hug.
"I'm sorry." Was all he said he stayed like that for a bit until Paul called.
"Sorry to interrupt but Alex your dad's wants to talk to you." he said and i nodded as Cedric and i stood up and he went to the common room and i went with Paul.
"Is everything alright?" he asked indicating to Cedric and I.
"Yeah I'm just trying not to focus on reality." I said and Paul understood.
"Nothing's going to Happen to them." He said and i nodded.
"You don't know that." I said and he walked in silent.
"Is it always this tense in here." he asked.
"pretty much. I never had a normal year here." I said and he laughed. We arrived to dad's office and i said the password. "Sherbet Lemons."
"I still think that's a weird password." Paul mumbled.
"You think everything's weird." I joked and we both laughed. I entered dad's office to see the Pack, Emily, Aunti Minerva, Hermione, Cho, and Gaberelle fleur's sister.
"Hello father?" I asked questionably.
"Good evening Alexandra now we can begin. Now for the second task the champions are asked to look for a specific treasure hidden in the black later and that treasure is very important to them. Now each and everyone of you have a specific relationship with one specific champion. Gabrelle of course will be your sister's treasure. Cho you will be Mr. Diggory's, Ms. granger you will be Mr. Krums' Treasure and Alexandra you will be Harry's treasure." My father explained to us.
"I think this is a bad idea." Embry mumbled.
"As do  I Mr. Call but I do not make the rules." My dad said to him.
"Isn't the task in the Black lake?" Hermione asked.
"Correct Ms. Granger you will be under a sleeping potion until for surface to air." My dad answered.
"I still think this is a bad idea. She could die." Embry stated to me dad.
"Mr. Call I know you are concerned for your imprint's well-being but rules are rules." Auntie minerva scolded him.
"Embry it's ok." I said and he looked at me.
"I can't believe your agreeing to this." He said.
"I trust my dad." I whispered.
"Drink this and you will be put asleep." Auntie MInerva said handing us all a cut and looked at Embry slowly drinking it than everything went black.
