chapter 44: Healing

The pack and I took Jake back to Billy's and set him in his bed carefully he still winced but stayed calm. I sat next to him on his bed over his head. as the pack to the living room waiting for Charlisle. Billy entered and sat next to his bed.
"I'm sorry Jake he was too fast for me to catch." I told him guiltily.
"It's ok." He crocked out.
"At least your alive." Billy told him.
"I'm confused why aren't your bones healing." I said looking confused.
"That's because his bones are misplaced once their in place he'll heal fast." Billy explained and I nodded. "Stop feeling guilty you did what you could." Billy ordered and I nodded sighing.
"I can't imagine how much in pain you must feel." I told him sadly.
"I wish I can tell you that it's almost like that curse you took when we were training with the Cullens but I don't think I know the feeling of my insides being pulled together." He told me and I smiled sadly.
"I think you might." I said and then we we're interrupted by Sam entering.
"Carlisle is here." He said and I stood up and went to Billy and pushed him to the living room. Sam followed us but Carlisle stopped us.
"Sam I suggest that you tell the rest of the pack to wait outside it's going to get loud in here." Sam nodded and led Billy and I to the living room.
"Carlisle says we should wait outside since Jakes going to be screaming a lot." Sam said and they all nodded in understanding and left. I was about to follow while pushing Billy but Sam stopped me. Ever since our argument I've been avoiding talking to him.
"I'm going to stay with Jake and make sure he's ok." He tell me and I nodded.
"Ok." I said though it came out as a whisper. I was about to push Billy out when he stopped me again.
"Hey. I'm sorry for yelling at you back there I guess being Alfa could be sort of stressful and it sorta got to me." I gave him a tight smile.
"I get it. I shouldn't have lost my temper I should of listen maybe if I have then Jake wouldn't have gotten hurt." I admitted.
"Hey if one of us would've gotten injured I'm glad that it wasn't you." He said and I smiled at him before holding on to Billy's Handles.
"I'll be outside keeping the pack on check. You take care of my cousin." I told him kindly before pushing Billy outside. Once I rolled him outside Paul Helped me bring him by his truck facing the house. I looked at Embry and he smiled at me and I smiled back at him. I stood next to Billy and placed a hand on his shoulder as we heard Jake screaming in pain. Billy placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it tightly. Emily later came and stood next to me.
"How's he doing?" She asked.
"That was the first scream." I whispered and she frowned and placed an arm around my shoulder. Two more long screams went on until Bella's beat-up truck stopped in front of the house. When she got out of the truck about to ask how Jake was doing but was cut off by Jakes Scream. Billy Clutched on my hand tightly as tears streamed down my face.
"It's been going on for a while." Quil said "Doc's is breaking his bone." His voice started to crack.
"He didn't have to butt in I could've taken that damn..." She was cut off by Paul.
"Oh give it a rest Leah." Paul snapped.
"Enough." I ordered making them all look at me. "Jake wouldn't want you guys arguing on who's the better fighter." Seriously this is stupid. I rubbed Billy's shoulder as he gave me a small smile as Carlisle and Sam joined us.
"The worse is over. He'll be alright." He assured us making Billy and I sigh in relief. "I gave him some morophine but his body temperature will burn in off so I'll be back to check." He said walking to Billy and I.
"Thank you." Billy said gratefully to him. He stuck his hand out for him to shake and he happily accepted. He turned to Bella.
"He's asking for you." He said softly to her and walked towards his car. We turned towards her as she went to see Jake.
"Thank goodness." Billy whispered.
"He'll ok uncle Billy." I smiled at him and he pulled me down to him to give him a hug.
"Thank you Alex." he whispered and I smiled in his shoulder.I pulled away and smirked at him.
"You know uncle Billy its really cold out here you a really tough old bird." I joked and he chuckle.
"And your a really sweet girl I guess I'm really lucky that your part of my family." He smiled up at me.
"Your not alone there Uncle Billy." I smiled at him
