Chapter 23: the first task

Today was the first task and let me tell you going with the pack to see the dragons was frightening. I don't know why the pack thought it was funny to laugh about it. Though what did did shut them up was the Hungarian horntail when he almost burnt Paul. The entire time i was with Embry and he didn't dare leave my side. I was scared for everyone in the cup. Even thought I'm not close with Fleur and Krum and I have a respectable friendship I'm scared something might happen to them. Father ordered me to sit next to him during the cup which i reluctantly agreed to but the pack convinced him that I should sit with them on the benches with my Griffindor friends and he agreed.
"Guys I don't know I can do this." I told the guys as I entered the Common Room with everyone waiting.
"Come on whats the worse that can happen." Paul said and i shook my head.
"Seeing Harry get burnt by a Dragon or Cedric." i said sitting down in front of the fire place."I can't believe Father making Harry compete. It's not Fair with everyone he is competing against has more experience." I said then Jake sat next to me.
"It's out of his hands Alex. Its a ministry matter. I think if it were up to him he wouldn't let him compete but sadly he can't do anything but host." He said and I sighed and looked at the boys.
"Promis to stick by me?" I asked.
"when haven't we?" Sam said and I smiled at them and left. We were walking to the quiddich stadium and went to the stands. Draco saw me and came our way with Crabbe, Goyle, and Parkison following.
"Hello love." He said and kissed me.
"Hey Draco." I said.
"Boys." Draco greeted and they nodded back then he turned to me. "Where are you sitting." I looked at the boys.
"There." Jared pointed at the direction where Hermione, Ron, the twins,and ginny were sitting.
"We're sitting behind you then." He said and I nodded.
"Alex lets go." Sam said pulling me towards the stands.
"I'll see you then." I yelled looking back at Draco who nodded and sighed walking behind. I just realized that i haven't been spending time with Draco because I've been so stressed with Harry and the cup. I think I'll talk to him later.
"I haven't really spent time with him that much I think I will tonight." I talk the boys as we went to the stands with the guys.
"OO your gonna get cozy with Draco." Paul teased as Jared smirked next to him.
"We haven't really done that yet."  I said and Sam smiled at me.
"It good that you haven't. Your too young for that." He said.
"Where's Emily?"I asked looking around.
"Right here." She said sitting next to Sam.
"Who's starting first?" I asked the twin.
"Fleur is going first then Cedric." Fred said.
"Then Krum and lastly Harry." George finished and we nodded.
"I think Potter is going to burn his arse if you ask me." Draco said as his goons laughed.
"Shove off Malfoy." Fred said and I rolled my eyes.
"Here we go." I say and looked at the Pack and Emily. "Can I go see Harry before he goes on." I ask Sam who nodded and took me. He told the boys and Emily to stay and we see him.
"I entered the tent to find Krum and Cedric pacing and around the tent and Fleur was sitting in one of the bed. Harry was doing the same.
"Harry." I Breathed and he stood up as I went to him and hugged him tightly. "Harry you'll do fine just do the summoning spell that we practiced and call your broom like Moody said." I whispered and he nodded and hugged me tightly.
"Thanks ALex. That all I need." He said and I pulled away and kissed his cheek. I looked at Cedric and walked to him as Harry started pacing.
"Hey." I said and hugged him and he hugged back tightly.
"You'll do great. I know it." I said pulling away. He nodded and gave out a heavy sigh.
"Good luck." I said then went out with Sam.
"They'll do great." Sam assured me and i nodded and headed to the boys.
"I know I'm just worried.' I said and sat next to Hermione.
"What we miss?" Sam asked.
"FRed and Draco almost killing each other." Embry said and i rolled my eyes.
"Thats not new." I said just as everyone started to quiet down.
"Welcome to the first task. Now each champion has to fight a dragon in order to get the egg and figure out the next task. Now let the slaying begin." Father said and a BOOM sound came signaling that the first competitor.

After Fleur, Cedric,and Krum were done I was was basically bitting my nails seeing them fight and now that it was Harry's turn I don't think can stand watching,
"Guys I thought I handle it but I really can't. I'm gonna go." I said looking at the pack.
"Do you want us to come with you?" Sam asked.
"No, enjoy the show and tell me what happens." I said standing up waving at Everyone then left the stands. I went to my room and laid down in my bed when I heard ruckus outside my window. I walked to my window and pulled the curtains only to be face to face with a dragon. I let out a scream and saw Harry on his broom.
"Harry?" I said as he tried flying away from the dragon.
"Hey Alex." He said I saw the dragon blow fire I hid behind the curtains as Harry ran away from the dragon and came back.
"C'mon then." He said and quickly extended his hand.
"Excuse me?" I raised my eyebrows at him.
"You don't expect me to get the egg without you there." He said quickly and I quickly took his hand and ride behind him on his firebolt. "Hold on." He said and i wrapped my arms around his waist as he flew away form the dragon. I looked at the dragon chasing us.
"Quickly Harry." I felt the dragon roar fire causing me to hold on to harry tightly.
"Almost there." he said and as we arrived to the stadium people started to cheer and I saw some peoples shocked faces. The dragon blew another fire causing me to slip and fall off the broom. I screamed bloody murder falling off as I heard people gasp until...
"Gotcha." Harry said as he caught me in his arms. I held him from around the neck as he he me close with one arm and the other was controlling his broom.
We landed on the ground safely with me still in Harry's arms. He sets me down and I hug him tightly then raise his arm in victory as we was being cheered. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and we walk to the tent.
"Are you alright Harry?" I asked him.
"My arm. It got burnt." I nodded and went to get Madam Pompfery so he can have his arm checked.
"Thank you Harry." I said kissing his cheek.
"What kind of brother would I be if I let you fall like that?" He asked and I sat next to him and gently placed my head on his good shoulder.
"A Bloody brilliant one to me." I said and felt him kiss my forehead. I guess all I really needed was my brother to feel safe about this.
