Chapter 36

This is the dress that she wore to her dinner.

 Evaline POV

"Evaline" my mother screamed for me when I was getting ready, well I was already ready but I was so nervous to come down and face today's evening and I knew what my mother was going to say me so descended the staircase and once I reached the bottom mother started "don't screw this up Evy" while tucking my hair behind the ear. "you know how we have arranged this dinner with him and he is a very busy and successful man. You should be proud that he is considering meeting you after knowing about how you look. So please be on your best behavior". Meanwhile my sibling came and mums reaction was "o how adorable both of you look" which always remind me that I'm the only one who has physique problem.

It's the routine every time when someone comes to meet me. She will tell me all these things and when they reject me she yells at me "how my fat is the problem or how I don't look good" then after sometime she hugs me and say "they are all useless people we will find someone more handsome, they don't see the beauty you are, etc." this time is also nothing new except the latter part that is the rejection part we will wait for it to happen.

We all reached the restaurant on time but that guy was half an hour late and I was looking at my Mom and thinking Dad is not going to like him cause he like people on time. So I raised my eyebrows towards her to which she said he is a very busy person at which I and Dad rolled our eyes. While scrolling on my phone I heard a voice not too good for ears, like the person is letting us know that he is superior than us so I raised my head and found a guy, yes a guy not a man cause a man doesn't greet like this.

He greeted my parents ,nodded towards my brother and winked at my sister at which she was stunned cause who winks at a kid that too when you are way older than the kid than turned toward me and looked from top to bottom and gave me a tight smile, a face of rejection was full on display on his face but I think my parents completely ignored it cause my Mother was so engrossed talking to him and Father was just listening and I was just sitting there like a statue. I couldn't even eat anything from the table cause of two reasons 1. Dress was too tight and 2. If I tried to eat anything my mother would glare at me in her way only which I know.

This person whose name was Tim. He was of an average height with lean body ,no muscles, no abs, nothing, black hair and his features were also OK but I don't know why he thinks himself a handsome one cause he keeps on saying how girls are waiting to marry him but he is here, blah blah blah...

He asked me what I do and I told him "I'm a Personal Assistant of Mr. Hugh of Hugh Companies" to which he said "that's all. You work at such a low level but never mind, cause it doesn't matter as after marriage you won't work" and I was like What so I confronted him "What?...." but my mom said "it's OK dear if he doesn't want you to work you should be happy" on which Tim just smirked. Then he asked my Father about his work and he told him about his Security Company to which he just said "Oh", I mean seriously "Oh" who says "Oh" my father has worked hard for his company and this time my mother also felt bad but a voice from behind "it's a great work Sir." made everyone turned and made me cursed under my breath.

Xander POV

Evaline was looking so fucking beautiful in this dress like I could just go there and kiss her right in front of everyone but I waited for the jerk who was her date and when he entered from one step I knew that he is one hell of an arrogant and perverted bastard, I mean it was all over his personality and his talk with the family proved my point. My blood was boiling when he demotivated  Evaline regarding her work and then letting her know that she is not going to work and her mother was OK with that, who the hell is OK if their freedom is snatched from them and made them live at someone's mercy. I was looking for the chance to mingle with them and I got one when he asked her father about his work and when her father told him I could feel the confidence and love for his work but this jackass just ignored it and I couldn't live with that so I gained everybody's attention by congratulating Evangeline's father for his company, after hearing it he was very happy cause his eyes were shining like a twinkle.
