Evaline POV
The whole ride to home was silent and I knew that it's the silence that is before the storm hits.
We entered the house and when the door closed I turned around to apologies to Mom but I was met with a hard stingy slap on my face given by Mum, everybody gasped and Dad yelled at Mom for hitting me.
Mom: "I told you, I told you not to ruin this but you did and that too with that man. Did you plan all this Evy? Are you whoring around now?" my eyes were wide with shock and disappointment cause this was my Mom speaking about me
Me: "No, Mom I'm not. How could you think lik..." I was cut off by her.
Mom: "O shut up you think I couldn't see the way he was touching you" I was embarrassed at that so I again tried
Me: "No Mom its nothing like that you are misunderstanding....." again a slap and this time I was in tears
Mom: "don't try to fool me young lady. I know what you are doing. I found a decent man for you and you go to blew it up. One move you played today and you have the audacity to explain your doing. Tim was overlooking your fault and trying to accept you but what did you do you spill the water on him. Do you know how embarrassed you made us in front of others?"
Whole time I was crying cursing myself for what happened today.
Mom: "you are useless Evangeline, totally useless." My brother and sister yelled at Mom "MOM" to stop her from saying further but I stopped them and said
Me: "I'm sorry that I'm useless Mom, I'm sorry" with that I ran toward my room and before reaching there I heard the door bell but I was not concerned at all about it cause it's useless, I'm useless.
Xander POV
When I got out of my car I heard her mother say "you are useless Evangeline, totally useless." And then Evangeline say "I'm sorry that I'm useless Mom, I'm sorry" which made so guilty cause due to me she was hearing all this and angry that I could kill someone right now. I was feeling stingy pain on my cheek which made me think that her mother might have hit her, hit my mate which made Adrian growl and out for blood but we knew we can't do anything cause it's her mother we are talking about. So I ringed the bell as the door opened I straight went to her mother and said "she is not USELESS for Christ sake." This made her move a little back and startle.
Me: "did you raise your hand on Evangeline?" I asked her while closing my eyes cause I was trying to control myself from doing anything wrong.
Mrs. Winter: "yes, I did. I can raise my hand as she is my daughter and when kids do wrong they do get punishment." Throwing her hands all over while explaining. "And you are the main culprit and you still have the audacity to barge in my house and talk to us. It's because of you that Tim was so upset, it's because of you that we got embarrassed, it's because of you we are in this mess, it's ......." Before she could say anything else I roared. "No" which made her sit on the couch behind her and everybody startled as a result Caleb took Cynthia out of the room. Calming myself a little I looked at Mr.Winter and said
"Sorry sir, but I need to clarify few things after that you all can hate me all you want. Well because of me you got saved from that so call douche bag Tim cause:-
1. He is in debt a lot of debt that's the reason he was here to marry my mat.. I mean Evangeline.
2. Cause of me you were saved from lifelong torture given by him as you can see that he never considered Mr. Winter's work as anything and you know it and felt it too, don't you deny it.
3. Cause of me your daughter is safe cause he has a criminal background of abusing women." How do I know that? Well the thing is while coming here I did my little research on him.
"Mr. Winter I didn't plan on meeting you under these circumstances. Please forgive for my behavior. I really like your daughter, I know you won't believe me but it's the truth. So I want your permission to see your daughter in future and make her my girlfriend, please sir." With that I lowered my head cause I know no man is insane to give her daughter to a man like me who comes banging in their life but I was shocked cause I heard "you have my permission son even after all your drama but remember one thing you might be mighty businessman but if you broke my daughter's heart I will personally castrate your balls" which made my eyes go wide in shock cause the determination in the eyes of Mr. Winter told me that he meant each and every word , god now I know from whom Evangeline got this trait of showing people where they belong when she uses it which very few times but when she does god help the poor soul who faces it.
With one last look I glanced at Evy's mother she was in shock but I didn't say anything to her I moved towards the door and for last time I turned just to have a look at my mate's face but she was nowhere to be found and I know she is badly hurt that is because of me. I went back to the car and found that Caleb was hugging Evy's sister and kissing her senselessly and the expression of pure satisfaction and happiness made me realize that he found his mate, finally at least someone's night is going to be good after all.
(Meanwhile in the house)
Mrs. Winter's POV
I was shell shocked. How a man came and yelled at me and went away. When the realization hit me I scanned the room only my husband was there sitting on the couch starring at me as if he is assessing my next move but I'm all out of it. I know the words which I spit out in rage and anger towards my sweet Evy I never meant any of it but still I said it. I turned towards my husband "I'm sorry honey, I didn't mean any of it."
I always mean good for my daughter, she is the sweetest thing on the earth I have known. She is so innocent and caring and I have not seen anyone like her. I'm afraid that this world will swallow her like she is nothing. This world is so cruel and I'm terrified that someone will come and ruin her or worst use her and leave and I also know that she won't say a single word for that person as soul is so pure that's the reason I'm like this harsh bitch always as to keep others in their limits."I'm sorry, I really didn't know about Tim, his mother spoke highly about him, I guess words are not enough. I just want to protect her from bad and worst things nothing else." My husband came to me and held my chin between his thumb and fingers very gently. Even at this time when I fucked up he is so gentle when others can be so violent but he is not, he is my life, my husband.
My husband: "Darling, you can't protect her always, even I can't do that. We can just try our best, but you need to let her go, give her a little freedom to live. I'm not saying that she will not get hurt but she will learn from it. I have seen her whenever there is a decision to make she gets stuck, she always think about what others will think not what will happen to her and I'm afraid of that cause there will be times when she has to think about herself but she won't." I clutched his T-shirt and cried on his shoulders regretting my behavior.
Evy POV
I sat on the bed drew my new to my chest and cried while repeating the words "you are useless Evangeline, totally useless" in my mind again and again. i heard many muffled voices but lastly I know is that I said "I'm sorry that I'm useless Mom, I'm sorry" in my mind before drifting to darkness.

Good thing is Caleb found his mate. yohooo
