Even though I know Elija isn't waiting outside for training, I'm still heading there out of instinct. Right as I make it outside I spot Elija sleeping under the same tree.
"What are you doing here?" I ask. His head instantly pirks up at my voice. "Hoping to see you...not angry." He replies. "Did you really mean to do what you did yesterday?" I ask still having last nights thoughts eating at me.
"I didn't mean to...I'm sorry." I walk over to him. I take a seat right next to him. "I know you didn't mean to, but what you said to Jake was rude." I growl. "He's a really close friend, and you calling him that was uncalled for." I lecture him. "The Nia's there are the are the closest thing I have to family." Elija gives me a look of understanding.
"Sinagona, would you believe me if I said I love you?" He asks as he lays his head in my lap. "Nope." He laughs at my response. "Well, then I'll keep saying it till you do." He smiles up at me.
"I love you." He says softly. "Shut up." I say annoyed. "There's something I want to ask." I look down at him. "What is it?" I ask. "Will you, Sinagona Sinaria go to prom with me?" He asks, but no hope of me saying yes laces his eyes. I don't blame him. "I'll think about it." His bright blue eyes shine like ocean's sparkling water at sunrise.
"Am I dreaming?" He asks himself. I pinch his cheek. "Did you feel that?" He smiles brightly showing off his pearly whites. "Prom is the second week of next month." He informs me. "I will take that time to think." I tell him. "One day you'll love me." He says. "In your dreams." I reply.
"I want you to apologize to Jake after school." I order Elija as I get making him hit his head. "I like the view." I quickly pick a rock, then throw it at him. "Ow! Sorry!" He laughs.
Today I didn't worry about much, so my day went by pretty fast. Me and Elija are walking towards Jake. "Jake, before you lose it; let him speak." I ask him before he could speak. He gives Elija a hard look, but keeps his mouth shut.
"Hey, I'm sorry for calling you something rude, I was being a big arse. Do you forgive me?" His apology to Jake isn't as passionate as the the one he gave me, but you get what get and you don't throw a fit.
"We're okay, for now." Jake says. "But if you piss of Sina again..." He leans in closer. "I won't hesitate to beat you're arse." Jake warns. "Fair deal." Elija says. Elija must have some balls, Jake maybe a joker but he's a food fighter and a man of his word.
"When that comes I'll be watching eating popcorn." I comment. "Oh Sina, Ms. Eagle wants you to go to her office right when we get back." Jake informs me. "Why didn't you tell me sooner!" I exclaimed before running off home.
When I get there I dash to Ms. Eagle's office. I gently knock on her door. "Come in." She shouts from inside. I enter the room. I never have anxiety, but if Ms. Eagle calls me into her office, I'm filled with it.
"You requested me, ma'am." All my nerves calm down when I see her smiling, but now I'm confused. "Sinagona, your school called me." She starts off. She get's up from her chair, and walks towards me.
"They said Harvard wants you to attend." Ms. Eagle was in tears. "I know you won't be able to attend, but the fact you were offered is amazing." Having Ms. Eagle proud of me is like a parent being proud of their child.
"You were the one you taught me all I know." I tell her not wanting to take all her praises. "You're mother be proud." She mumbled. "Oh I forgot." She stops. "Your school notified me about the prom, are you going?" She asks. "Yes, me and a friend." She smiles, but it quickly falls. "Is this friend a girl?" She asks.
Ms. Eagle can be a mom sometimes. "Yes, her name is Katie you can ask Jake." I assure her. "Hmm, I'll ask Lisa to pick out a dress for you." Lisa is the daughter of our lions pride leaders. She is a stylist. If you want something that looks good on you ask her.
"Don't get ahead of yourself." I warn playfully. She shoo's me away. When I leave her office, Jake is waiting next to the door. "So, what happened?" Jake's asks. Worry lacing his eyes.
"I got an offer to go to Harvard." I explain. his jaw dropped. "Your actually smart?!" He exclaims. I slap the back of his head. "Did you think I was dumb!?" I hiss. Ms. Eagle's door suddenly opens.
"Oh! Jake! Just the person I was looking for." She states as she drags Jake by the arm into her office. I sigh in relaxation. I grabbed something to eat before heading off to my room. Once I'm settled I hear a knock at my door.
"It's me Jake." Says the knocker. "Come in." I welcome him in. "So, what did Ms. Eagle need you for?" I ask him. "She wanted to be sure you had a friend named Katie, that's a girl." Jake chuckles. I sigh.
"So, you're going to prom." Jake says slyly. "Yes." I answer. "Who's you're date?" It's like Ms. Eagle all over again. "No, I'm going with Katie." I inform him. "Well, Ms. Eagle wouldn't mind me taking you too prom." Jake says with a big smile. "No, never, ever." I state. "You're so cruel." He acts dramatically.
"What'ca gonna do about the dress?" He asks. "Ms. Eagle is having Lisa pick one out for me." His eyes go wide. "Your going to look amazing." He says probably already picturing it in his head. "Go, I need to sleep." I state as I push him out. "What no goodnight kisses?" He teases. I shut the door in his face after his comment.
Why am I thinking about going to prom with Elija? I think there's something mentally wrong with me.
He's just a stupid, idiot, vampire, that
I....
