12 YEARS LATER
"Sinagona, time to get up." Ms. Eagle says as a sad attempt to wake me up. She purposely left my door open, letting the eye irritating light in. I pull my soft navy blue blanket over my face to shield my eyes from the blinding light. "Leave me alone," I grumble from under my blanket, not wanting to leave my comfortable bed to deal with life. Life sucks, sleep does not, so I shall stay in my bed. "Oh, I guess you don't want to train today." Ms. Eagle comments knowing damn well how much I love training. The silence begins to kill me, so I throw the blanket off me; hoping out of bed with a new found energy.
Sleep is great and all, but training gives me a reason to kick a certain someone's ass. Ms. Eagle gives me a satisfied smile before leaving me room, so I can get ready for the day. I do the necessary bathroom things, using the toilet, brushing teeth and hair. I exit my bathroom to my room. I go through my wardrobe and pull out a grey workout shirt and black shorts. I put them on then exit my room. Ms. Eagle was waiting by my door for me.
As I walk alongside Ms. Eagle to the cafeteria I receive praising looks from all those who lay their eyes on me. I am treated like royalty because of what I am, and I hate it. Some of these people have never known me personally. To most of the Nia's that live in this facility I am the most valuable thing on this Earth, but to me I feel like your average person; granted I am the last of my species.
"How's my little Sina?" Jake asks in a teasing manner, knowing well about how much it irritates me when he calls me that. The smirk playing on his lips, his sparkling green eyes are just patiently awaiting my response. "None of your business." I reply sourly, not wanting to have to deal with him straight after I wake up from my lovely sleep. Jake is a wolf Nia; very different from a werewolf. Wolf Nia's tend to be the usual size for the breed of wolf they are, while werewolves are ten times the size of your average wolf, and don't have specific breeds.
If you maybe wondering as to why there are so many Nia's here, then let me explain. This facility is for Nia's who have a hard time living in human society or want to be themselves without having to expose their kind. So they are welcomed to come here of course under certain rules, but still have freedoms they will not be able to have in human society.
"Could you do me a favor and not call me that again." I request of him on a very annoyed tone of voice. "Call you what? Sina?" He teases, holding back a laugh. He tends to get a kick out of pissing me off. I growl at him, irritated, I hold a threatening fist in the air, barely getting a flinch out of him. Before he is even able to mutter another word Ms. Eagle interrupts, not that I mind.
"Breakfast isn't ready yet, so please take that to the training room for the meantime." Ms. Eagle suggests with a tired look on her wrinkled white skin. I and Jake's bickering seems to make her tired, I mean I would be too if it happens every day. In all honesty it's mainly Jake.
Jake is the first to run off to the training room across the dark grey hallway. I make my way to the training room that's decked out in many different types of equipment to get us in shape. As soon as I enter the training room Jake tackles me from behind. His attempt to knock me down fails as I grab his arm, throwing him to the ground sparing him some mercy since we aren't seriously fighting.
"Nice try, but you aren't strong enough to knock me down." I taunt, making fun of his failed attempt to actually try to beat me in a fight. He replies with a scoff, smiling brightly at me. Yeah, he knows I'm right. "true, but I'll make you fall for my face." Jake makes one of his cheesy jokes then winks, making the moment even more of a cringe. In comment to his joke I kick him as gently as possible on the top of his head. His hand moves to the area, rubbing it with a groan.
