2 MONTHS LATER

Tomorrow is Nurion's birthday. I'm still recovering mentally from the encounter with Albert. After that day I decided to do more patrols around that facility I call home.

"Mommy!" Nuriona shouts as she comes running towards me. "What is it?" I ask. She holds a small paper in her hand. "Mommy, who's this?" She asks as she holds up the picture to me.  My eyes widen. It was my prom picture. I clench my fists as I stare at his smiling face.

"Who's he mommy?" Her question takes me out of my hateful thoughts. "An old friend," I lie. I knew Nuriona wanted to know about her father, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. How am I supposed to tell her that her father left her? I don't want to let my little girl down.

"Please put that back where you found it." I growl. I can't stand looking at it. Seeing his face makes my blood boil. A sad look crosses her features, before she walks away, probably sulking.

"What's the pumpkin sad about?" A familiar voice asks from behind me. Their music was wild, but it's center beat was soft. "Nothing," I reply realizing it was Pascal. He wraps his arm around my shoulders. I don't know why, but I didn't like the feeling;  not one bit.

I could feel someone's staring daggers into me. "You've seen out of it," Pascal states, all his playfulness leaves him, and a seriousness clouds his bright gold eyes. I thought I made sure no one noticed.

"I know my alpha, and I know when she's acting weird." Pascal states. It's sort of a heart warming one. My job is to look out for them, but to know some of them are looking out for me is... Nice. "Just have a lot on my mind," I reply.

How did Elija know I was at Albert's? Is a question that has been plaguing my mind for months now. Is he really that close by. A peck on my cheek knocks be back into reality. My eyes widen as I see Pascal smiling brightly.

"I'll beat your head in if you do that again." I growl. "Duly noted," Pascal says with a chuckle. "Sinagona!" Lisa calls as she runs towards me. Worry laces her eyes.

"Nuriona! She's in pain!" Once those words leave her lips I run faster then ever. I barge into my house. Nuriona lies on the living room floor, beads of sweat roll down her forehead.

"Nuriona?" I say desperately. I crouch down. I lay a comforting hand on her shoulder. She only whimpers at my touch. I press my hand against her cheek.

It's cold...

"Sinagona! There's a man at the entrance requesting you!" Jay informs me. I don't want to leave her like this...

I run through all the grass. The faster I get this done, the dinner I can return to my little girl. A herd of people surround the entrance; growls and snarls are clear in the crowd. This must be something bad.

I walk through the crowd, everyone letting me through easily. I stop in my steps. A familiar bright blue eyes hold my deep ocean ones.

Elija...

"What do you want!" I growl fiercely. "Nuriona is in pain, isn't she?" I'm caught by surprise by his words. How the hell he know? "Let me in, I can help her." He offers. I can't let him in, but if it's to help my little girl, I'd do anything.

"Fine." Gasps are heard all around me. "Sinagona! Are you crazy?!" Pascal hisses. Everyone here hates vampires, it's understandable if they dislike the idea of me letting one in. "My daughter is in pain, and I'm positive this man can help her!" I growl.

Elija's gaze is on Pascal. An unreadable expression lays in his eyes. It's almost like, jealousy? Or anger. "Follow me," He begins to walk towards me. "But one step out of line, I wouldn't mind ripping your head off." I warn. Before I lead him to what used to be our house.

As soon as we walk in, he rushes to Nuriona. Her chest keeps moving up and down as she struggles to breathe. As soon as he places his probably cold hands on her cheek, she calms down. How did he?

"Tonight is the blood moon," Elija states. "It's a vampires strongest time." He looks up at me, making sure my gaze is being held by his. "For this one night, she will turn into vampire." He informs me.

Because of my stupid drunk self, my daughter is in pain. Because I spent the night with a vampire, my daughter has to suffer.

Why...

Am I...

So stupid......
