Elija places a cold cloth over Nuriona's forehead. "This should make the transformation a lot less painful," he tries to word out. "When she's turning into a vampire, she'll need cold to comfort her, but when she's turning back she'll need warmth to comfort her." He explains. At least I know I CAN do something.

The feel of his aura, it's not the usual him. "Where's the idiot I used to know?" The question just slips. I cross my arms to look more intimating. "Why don't you leave me alone, and hang out with your boyfriend." He growls, refusing to make eye contact.

What th- "I don't have one!" I hiss. He hasn't been here in years! What the hell have him that assumption! "Oh cupcake, don't give me that bullsh*t." He says this time making eye contact. He's never spoken to me like that...

"You let that guy get all touchy with you." He growls. Pain is obvious in his blue eyes. Then I think. Who did I let touch me? Wait! Is talking about Pascal! Was Elija the one staring at me.

"Pascal was only making feel better, I haven't been myself as of late." I explain. His blue eyes light up at my explanation. Elija knows I'm not one to lie. Elija quickly gets on his feet. He makes his way towards me. He places his icy cold hands upon my forehead.

"You're not running a fever." He states before removing his hand. The feel of it lingers upon my skin, I suddenly miss the touch.

"I'm just still shocked... Elija! I almost failed to protect my own child!" I speak from the heart, as tears flooded down my cheeks. "How can I protect my people if I can't even protect my own child!" I exclaim. I'm weak... I was just too stupid to realize!

"Without you... I wouldn't have been able to save Nuriona..." My voice cracks at the end. "Actually about that." Elija leads. "You're stronger now, you have the power of a vampire in your system." My eyes widen. His words give the reassurance that I won't fail to protect  the ones I love.

"Why did you leave?" I blurt out the question. The same question has been lingering in my mind for years. "I can't tell you..." His voice cracks in regret. His eyes tell me otherwise. He wants to tell me, but what's holding him back?

As I take a good look at his features, I realized he's changed quite a bit. His hair has grown wildly. Some strands linger over his eyes. The boy I once went to school with is now a man. His bright blue eyes hold seriousness. His jaw looks sharper. He wears a long black coat, and black pants. It really brings out his fair skin.

"When she comes to, I want you to tell her your a doctor." I demand. Confusion washes over him. "What?" He nearly growls, but holds it down.

"She can't know your her father." I explain. This must be hurting him more than it is for me to say it. "Why are you hiding the truth from her?" He attempts to hold back his anger, but it comes out.

"I don't want her thinking negatively about you." I plea. If she knew her father was a vampire, she might doubt that she could lead our people. Negatively and doubt is a leaders worst enemy. "Cupcake! You can't hide me from my daughter!" He hisses.

I walk over to him, I wrap my arms around his cool body, embracing him. "Please..." I whisper in a begging manner. His muscles relax under my touch. He wraps his arms around me, returning my embrace. "I love you." He states, whispering into my hair.

His words send my heart a fire, but I can't let his sweet words get to me. I can't forget the fact he abandoned his family for some whatever reason. The family I've been dying to have was at my grasp, but he left. He left my family incomplete.

I pull away, feeling my tears whelming inside me. "You left us..."

I start pounding on his chest, but he didn't flinch. "You abandoned your family!" I cry out hitting him harder. He grips both my wrists before I could punch him more.

"Cupcake, I deserve every hit you give me." He states firmly; his blue eyes holding my deep ocean ones. His own eyes start to water. "I love you, no matter how much you may hate me." He states, tears streaming down his cheeks.

He leans down to plant a small kiss on my lips. Sending my heart out of my chest. He quickly pulls away. "I'll be outside." He says before quickly making his way out the door.

I just stand there in bewilderment.

I miss those words...
