I leave the house. I spot Elija standing near the side of the house. A smile creeps it's way to his features as his eyes land on me. I only roll my eyes. Still trying to seem like the nice guy, even after ditching his family. I'm never going to let this go, until he has a damn good reason.

"I'm going to be here until she transforms back into herself." Elija informs me. "Knowing you, you won't forgive me unless I have a good reason, right?" He states. It's creepy how he knows me all to well. I nod my head agreeing with his statement. "I have a good reason, but I can't tell you." Any hope was crushed by his words.

I sit on the porch, looking up at the clearless blue sky. Elija comes to me, standing behind me. I feel a warm liquid run down my cheek. A weak smile forms on my lips. "You know what? I actually loved you." I tell him. My body trembles with every tear.

I could of finally have a family, I could of had the missing piece in my heart, but right when I have it he leaves; leaving my family incomplete.

"Mommy?" I quickly wipe away the tears and stand up. "Mommy, this is thean in those pictures." Nuriona points out to Elija. "Mister, can you tell me who my daddy is?" Nuriona asks. Pain swirls in his blue eyes. I hold my breath hoping he won't tell her. "No, I do not." She looks down at the ground, holding back her tears. I release my breath, glad he didn't tell her.

"Why won't mommy tell me!" She shouts in frustration. "All the others kids have daddy's, but not me." My heart hurts for her. "You're daddy hurt mommy very much." Is Elija's response. I don't like having to lie to my own child, but it might hurt more to just tell her her father left for no reason; I assume.

Nuriona looks up into his pained eyes.  She shakes her head. "Why did you lie?" We both freeze in shock from her question. "You know who my daddy is." She states, strongly believing her words.

"Why lie to me, daddy?" My heart stops. How did she know? "How did you?" Elija asks before me. "I can sense it." She answers with a smile. Sometimes I forget she's part Saga and Vampire. Who knows what powers she can hold. Only the will unfold them I guess

"Daddy has a good reason for leaving." Nuriona states as she looks deeper into his eyes. How does she...?

"She's reading my mind."

Elija answers my unspoken question. "I can only read some, not all; like mommy." She cheers at Elija noticing her power. How fortunate that she can read his mind, but not mine. "Tell her." She urges. Wait, she knows why he left. "It only makes it worse if I have to." She warns, no, is my daughter black mailing her father? Guess you can't be too young for everything.

Elija throws his hands up in surrender. "Fine, but you'll go inside and relax." Elija tells her. "Aye, aye, captain!" She she agrees before running back inside. The smile he had a second ago disappears as he looks at me. He just looks at me, his blue eyes hold my deep ocean ones. I can tell he's mentally preparing himself for what he has to say.

"Remember when I didn't want you to know what class I am?" He starts off with a question. I nod my head remembering our younger days. "I'm a royal, a royal above all royals. I'm Elija Vincent Crimson, the supposed to be king of all vampires." My eyes widen in surprise. I knew I recognized that last name, and that's why Ms. Eagle re-.... I stop myself from thinking about her.

"I used to look up to my mother, since after my father passed." Elija pauses, thinking how to word his next sentence. "I found out she killed him, so I'd become a ruthless, heartless ruler like her. So, when I was of age I ran away." His fist clench at the thought of his mother. She killed her husband so her son would become as low as herself.

"That's when I met you. I didn't think much about until you had Nuriona. She would kill you two if she found you." Then it all becomes clear to me. He ran away so his mother wouldn't be able to track is down. He was protecting us, and here I am being the true jerk.

Before he says anymore I place my hand on his, giving it a tight squeeze showing I understood. I used to think he was like any other vampire, but now I see he was preventing himself from being that. His arms swing around me, consuming me into his cold yet soothing embrace.

His heart his filled with warmth, but his hands are colder than ice.

He starts to tremble as I start to feel a warm substance on my shoulder. I hug him tighter, trying to sooth him. "If we stay together, then she can't hurt us. You two are strong." Nuriona, who's supposed to be resting comments.

"Daddy, please stay with me and mommy." She begs.

"Yes."
