Gorran's POV:
The van thundered across the many roads which we travelled. This time I could see where we were headed. However, we were going to fast to make out much of the landmarks. It would not make any difference to me, I still had no idea what part of the country we were in. The only thing I did know was that we were somewhere in France. The fact that I had a very small chance of ever leaving the building terrified me. I didn't know the location precisely, but more importantly nobody else had a single clue of where it was.
Once we finally reached the destination, I was ordered out of the van. It was no longer a request, it was a command. I had been a part of their world, a member who had a say in how it everything happened, now I was a piece of equipment. I held a value, but it was similar to anything else that you could buy and sell. I was a piece in their game that had greatly reduced in value now that it had been revealed that I was no longer on their side.
As I was guided down the steps to where Morgan had been taken only hours, I thought back on everything that had happened to each of us. It all seemed surreal. I felt like it had been a dream that I would shortly wake up from, but I wasn't going to, this was reality. This was it.
The locks clicked into place in the metal door behind me. I felt my body shake as I gazed at the small, light bloodstains which dotted the floor. They were still fresh and hadn't become ingrained into the concrete floor. I now had a part of Morgan to accompany, but it was a terrifying thought. All that I had was blood- blood which should not have been spilled. Blood that would not have been lost if it had not been for my actions. Blame filled my head as I tried to remember the few positives that still remained. I still had my powers and nobody could take them away from me.
Although, "the boss" still did not no about them, I could tell that it wouldn't be long until he discovered it. He was a master at extracting information from people after all. I was certain that he would be willing to use whatever means he deemed necessary to achieve his aim.
Something inside of me, believed that if I could stall them long enough and stop anything bad from happening to me, that I would eventually be rescued. I don't know how I believed it would happen. The deep sense of faith that I had in Jet and even more so in April still stood the test of everything that I had gone through. They had promised that they would not leave any harm come to me and I truly believed those words.
Morgan. As I thought about the rescue which I had been dreaming about, I returned to the stark realisation that it was most unlikely. They had promised the same to Morgan, I had promised it to her. Yet, none of us knew where she was. All I knew was that she was injured and most likely gravely. She was fighting for her life, alone. We had made the same promises to her that I was now relying on. Nobody had the power to make her better again, she had to do it on her own, maybe, this was something which I also had to fo alone.
My body was exhausted, I could feel it. For a short time, I toiled with the idea of trying to stay awake. However, finally I gave in. There was no way of knowing how long I would be in this room for. They could be just planning on leaving me here. Maybe, knowing that I was in one place with no prospect of escape was all they needed. They could still get in connect with MI5 and the CIA. I could only hope that I would be left here.
The sounds of footsteps and raised voices awoken me. The voices were urgent, they had been sent for a reason. I blinked and stretched. I could only hope that I would be fully awake before I found out what the people on the other side of the door wanted. The doors clicked once more as they were unbolted and unlocked this time.
"Come on, the boss wants to speak with you." I recognised the voice before I saw his face. It was Diego, the man whom I had come to trust even though I knew he had chosen a life as a criminal. Since, I had arrived at the training centre, he had been the only person to show any compassion towards me. We had only spoken for minutes before we had been called to the meeting, but it was the closest relationship I had with anyone. I was glad to see that the person who had accompanied him down the stairs had now left. It was only the two of us. I realised that this was likely my best chance of gaining any information about my circumstances.
