Fate Changes-Carl Grimes

Carl's POV
I was out on scouting with Siddiq and I was getting anxious. "I noticed you're really close to that girl Natalie." He said snapping me put of my thoughts. "Yeah we're dating." I lied seeing that he had a suspicious look on his face. "Oh we are, are we?" I heard her ask from behind me. I groaned and closed my eyes. Siddiq was having trouble not laughing and I turned around to face Natalie. "Well I never thought I'd see the day the Carl Grimes would finally get over his shyness and ask me out." She taunted. "Wait you knew?" I asked turning around to face her. "Michonne and I like to gossip." She explained. "Dammit Michonne." I muttered underneath my breath. She walked over to me and yanked me against her by my belt loop which made me blush. "Don't worry I like you too cowboy." She said pulling me down to her level and kissing my lips. I kissed back and she smirked when we separated. "You better catch up with Siddiq." She said walking away. I turned around and noticed he had ditched us. I rolled my eyes and smirked as I went to catch up with the new recruit.

Natalie's POV
I went back to camp and started to boil some water in the medical center. I had learned a lot from Denise before she was killed. I took out the cauterizing kit that I had found from an abondoned hospital while I was out. I grabbed the pieces of metal and dumped them in the hot water to steralize them and then proceeded to put the same metal pieces in alcohol to steralize them further. "Natalie!" Siddiq shouted through the walkie talkies. I grabbed it from the table and  clicked a button. "Yeah I'm here." I replied waiting for his response. "Something happened to Carl I'm bringing him in now." I froze as I heard the message and got everything ready and Siddiq opened the door and helped Carl lay down on the table. "What the hell happened?" I asked angrily. "He was bit." Siddiq said. I almost passed out as he said those words. I grabbed a rag and wiped sweat and dirt from his face. I grabbed Carl's face in my hands and he finally focused his eyes on me and gave me a weak smile. "Hey." He whispered. "Where did you get bit?" I asked him. "Stomach." He groaned. "You are one lucky son of bitch now that I found my cauterizing kit." I told him. I tore open his shirt and slightly blushed as I saw his abs. " Like what you see." Carl joked, but groaning afterward. "Shut it Grimes. Siddiq get me a scalpel and the cauterizing kit. And go get Rick, I've gotta chew his ass out for not giving you any fucking weapons." I told him. He got me my tools and sprinted out of the medical hut and I plugged in the cauterizer and injected Carl with some morphine. "You're gonna be glad when it kicks in." I said washing my hands and putting on latex gloves. "This is gonna hurt isn't it?" Carl asked. "Yeah, but I'm here and you can squeeze your dad's hand." I said noticing Rick running through the window. "What the hell happened!?" Rick screamed. "Rick just hold your fucking son's hand and let me work in silence. "Riddiq I want you to cut around the entire bite and I'll cauterize the flesh after every move you make with the scalpel. Then we douse the wound after it's done being burnt with alcohol." I instructed. He nodded and scrubbed in. He picked up the blade and started to cut and Carl screamed out in pain and it hurt to hear it. I started to cauterize and from what I could tell after we were done could only be told in the next few days. "Now this is gonna be the worst of it." I said handing the bottle of alcohol in Riddiq's hands. "Why do I have to do it?" He asked. "Because I need to hold his hand." I explained taking off my gloves and throwing them away. I grabbed Carl's hand and placed a kiss on it. "I'm right here and your dad is about to cry so try to hold back the screams." I whispered in his ear. "Now." I told him. He poured the alcohol on Carl's stomach and Carl grunted in pain and squeezed my hand tightly and I squeezed back gently and wiped sweat away from his forehead and kissed his temple. "See that's it." I told him as Riddiq put a bandage over the wound. Rick walked out and I looked at Carl. "I'll go after him for you." I said standing up, but Carl grabbed my hand and stopped me. "Please just stay with me." He begged. I nodded and kissed his forehead. "I'll be right here when you wake up." I said. He nodded and gave in to exhaustion. "Do you think he'll make it?" Rick asked in a pained voice. I looked up and met his sad eyes. "I know he will I did the same thing to my sister when she got bit, but she ended getting shot after she healed up completely." I explained. Rick let out a sign and brought me into his arms. "You changed his fate and I'm glad to call you my future daughter in law." He said. I blushed madly and scratched the back of my neck. "Yeah that doesn't sound too bad does it." I agreed looking at Carl's sleeping form.
