Gally's POV
I wrapped my arms around Natalie's sleeping form and smiled at her. Her eyes fluttered open and she smiled at me. "Hey slinthead." She whispered. "Hey beautiful." I responded trying to sugar coat what was about to happen. "Wow no sarcastic comment. Who are you and what did you do with my boyfriend?" She laughed. "What time is it anyway?" She asked. "About that." I started. "Are you shucking kidding me Gally?" She asked scrambling to her feet and grabbing her clothes and changing quickly. I stood up and threw on a t-shirt. "Gally you know that I have to get up in time for the wall, I'm a runner for shuck's sake. Why would you turn off my alarm or are you that much of a shucking idiot! Shit Minho is gonna kill me for being late!" She shouted lacing up her shoes and putting on her watch. "Natalie." I said grabbing her arm, but she yanked her arm out of my grip. "No Gally I don't have time for your bullshit right now I gotta go." She said walking out of the homestead and slamming the door close. I sighed and flopped back onto the bed and felt tears prick my eyes at her comments. I don't why, but they really got to me when she said them.

Natalie's POV
I sprinted to the doors where Minho and Thomas were waiting for me. "You're late." Minho told me when I got over to them. I threw my hair into a ponytail and glared at him. "Don't start with me Minho." I warned. He held up his hands in surrender and we ran through the doors. "Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?" Thomas questioned when we finally took a break. "Thomas I'm really not in the mood for your comments right now." I growled gulping down some water. "Seriously though what happened to you? You're usually happy when you go on runs." Minho asked. "Gally turned off my alarm. That's why I'm late." I explained. "That's it." Thomas said. I stepped forward getting ready to get in his face, but Minho pushed me back with his arm. "Easy now. If Natalie is late and doesn't make the run she could get kicked from running forever." Minho explained. Thomas mouthed oh. Like he finally understood. "Yeah and he knows that I love running so I'd be screwed." I added. I heard movement and looked at my watch. "Shit walls are gonna close soon. Let's go now." I said grabbing my stuff and starting to run. Once we could see the outline of the doors we noticed they were closing. "Run!" I screamed to the others. We sprinted as fast as we could and I could see Gally running towards the doors, but a few other Gladers held him back. "NATALIE!" He shouted. "GALLY!" I shouted back. I was just at the doors and then the concrete walls closed and the Glade was shut away. I pounded against the wall and screamed. "Shit." Thomas whispered. I slid down the wall and hid my face in my knees. "He's there and I'm dead. The last thing I ever said to him was that he was a shucking idiot and that I didn't want to deal with his bullshit." I muttered. I felt tears slip down my face and felt someone's hand on my shoulder. "We're going to get out of this maze Natalie." Thomas said. "No we're not. No one's ever made it in the maze through the night." Minho said. I let out a sob. "Minho not helping and besides we'll just have to be the first." Thomas said. He helped me to my feet and we walked through the maze and I leaned against a wall to rest but fell through the thick vines that were supposed to be covering the wall. "Natalie are you okay?" Thomas asked. "Yeah I'm fine, it's like someone carved a cave into the wall. I think we can all fit and the ivy covers the wall so the grievers shouldn't be able to find us." I said moving the ivy. They walked I after me and I leaned my head against Minho's shoulder. "What if we don't get out?" I asked quietly. "We'll get out and then you and Gally can make up." Minho told me wrapping an arm around my shoulder and giving me a hug. "Thanks Min." I whispered.

Gally's POV
I was sitting in front of the door that I saw Natalie get shut away. "Gally come on you haven't eaten anything all day." Alby said to me. "I can't eat while Natalie's out there. She wouldn't be in there if I had just left her shucking alarm alone." I replied staring at the doors. "There's nothing you could've done." Alby reminded me. I nodded and looked up at the stars and then at my hands. "Please come back." I whispered tears starting to run down my face. It seemed like I'd been out here for days, but I only realized it had only been half the day when the sun started to rise. Some of the runners and a couple more Gladers stood outside the door waiting for the three of them to come running through those doors. When they opened at first no one was there and then they turned the corner and started to sprint down the corridor. Natalie got past the doors first and sprinted and jumped into my arms which knocked me over and onto the dirt. She had her arms wrapped around my neck tightly and her legs around my waist. "I'm so sorry I said those things to you. I almost died and those were the last words I ever said to you." She sobbed. I had my arms wrapped around her tightly and felt tears slipping down my own cheeks. "It was my fault. I shouldn't have turned off your alarm." I whispered. She looked at me and kissed me passionately. I was glad to return it and when we separated I pressed my forehead against hers. "I love you so much." I murmured. "I love you more." She replied.
