I waited for sleep to come in the matter of 6 hours. I was sitting in my living room, my legs crossed and my hands pulling the collar of my wooden jumper up to my lip. It was still winter, even though I was cold I turned my fireplace on to a maximum of 20 degrees.
Snow was falling and I couldn't help but sigh.

"I guess you'll just have to see him again"

I don't understand, what did laito mean by that? I killed ruki and that's all I know.
I couldn't have released poison from in my fangs, I would've sensed it before I even tasted his blood.

I shook my head, rattling the thoughts to the back of my head as I looked towards my TV. The same soap opera was on and I was currently on the fifth season. But I couldn't be bothered to watch it at the moment, not one bit.

Soon, my phone made a small bing sound, which made me look towards it and immediately grab it.
Ayato was calling me.

I quickly pressed the green button on my phone screen and pressed it up against my left ear.
"Hello?" I said, chewing on my lip when hearing Ayatos voice.

"Eve, everyone knows" he snapped, I was startled by his sudden outburst but replied.
"Who's 'everyone'? Ayato be more precise" I sighed, bringing my legs up on my couch and crossing them in a more comfortable manner.
Ayato wasted no one what-so-ever as he replied through the electrical device.

"Our brothers; everyone knows you're alive" he hissed and seemed to go quiet for a minute.
My chest dropped to the floor in shock, my eyes widening as my hands became sweaty.

"E-everyone knows? But how?" I asked, my breathing was shaky and my hands seemed to be shivering.
Ayato grunted at the other end of the phone.
"They saw you and they somehow knew immediately. They also questioned Laito and I... we didn't exactly succeed at lying" I could tell Ayato was agitated.
I sighed and shook my head softly.

"Okay... don't panic, please" I said calmly, startling Ayato who was mumbling on the phone.
"F-fine... but I didn't want to put you in a situation like this" He groaned.

"It's fine Ayato, just stay calm".

(50-55 years ago)

I was awaiting my date as I sat in a park in New York City. My hands were cupped in my lap as I pursed my red lips.
He was late, I was just too odd I guess.
The date was 1961 and I was a least 200 years old now. It was unfortunate, every man I've come across has always lost interest or cheated.
I sighed and looked to the row or skyscrapers laid across the city of New York. I stood up from my seat, dusting off my rouge velvet dress that was down to my silver heels. I straightened my black fur coat over my shoulders and touched up my red lipstick that coated my lips. This was a usual evening for me, prancing around New York at night to usually search for my next victim. It was normal for me.
I looked up ahead the gravel pathway and smirked when seeing that a large party was being held.
The scent of blood and perfume filled my nose as I stared through the windows of the tower.
It seemed to be a ball, filled with women as men alike, and it didn't seem to have any vampires lurking around which was good.

I giggled.

"Surely they'll be fine if another woman tagged along" I mumbled to myself, walking over the small stones and onto the pavement across from the entrance.
I looked from side to side, tucking my curly waves back behind my ear so it wouldn't get In the way.
My black gloves went back down to my side as I ran across the busy road, the red light stopping any traffic from driving.
I composed myself from tripping on my heels and walked up gracefully to the front entrance. A neatly dressed man beside the glass door opened it and welcomed me with a smile.
"Evening, Madam Sakamaki" I stopped after walking a step or two past him.

"You know Carla, I do love it when you make an appearance" I batted my lashes at the man who had his white hair hidden in a guard cap.
"Hmm, well, I do love surprising you" he bowed his head and walked in behind me.
He threw off the guard cap and chucked it behind the desk.

"you work here?" I asked, linking my arm in his as we walked towards a grand flight of stairs.
"For about a month, every week a party is hosted and that's where I can find my food" he smirked, making me hum and agree.
"Good point" I chuckled. Carla walked me up the stairs, and politely opened the doors which led into a grand hall full of people. Carla and I both looked at each other and smirked.
"See you at the end of the night?" He asked, eyeing a few females here and there.
"Sounds perfect" I answered, leaving him to walk away and start mingling.
I stood in the middle of the hall, my eyes darted from person to person until I went back to my thoughts.

I walked over to one of the tables and took off my coat, revealing my bare arms and chest that were stone cold even if they were covered by my coat a few seconds ago.
I hid my bag underneath my coat and strutted over to the bar.
Sliding smoothly onto the cocktail high chair, I leaned my elbows on the bar table and smelt fresh cigarette smoke in the air as I did so.
I looked to me left to see the bartender fixing up a couple of drinks to women who looked far to common to be at an event like this. They giggled to whatever he said and some weren't even funny, they were just ridiculous. I looked up my right and saw a group of men smoking and drinking shandy, some of them eyeing up the women across from them. I sat right in the middle of it all, alone and happy that no one had accompanied me.
Carla was nowhere to be seen, but I knew he had already caught his prey from how fast he could seek.
"Evening ma'am, what can I get ya?" The bartender stood in front of me and gave me his best smile.
I returned the favour and leaned back.
"I'll have a martini please" I grinned, resting my chin on the back of my hand.
He nodded and started to collect all of the ingredients. As I waited patiently for my drink, I looked back to the group of men and saw that one of them was walking to the seat next to me.
"Your drink, ma'am" the bartender returned with my nearly made martini and took the dollars I had in my hand.
I grinned and swirled my finger around the rim of the martini glass, then taking the olive and popping it in my mouth.

I savoured it's salty taste, tasting the alcohol that coated the olive which also contrasted with my tastebuds.
I sighed and closed my eyes, enjoying the chatter and laughter as music lasted behind lowly.
"Enjoying that I see?" I opened my eyes and turned to my right, locking my eyes with a pair of golden ones which made me smile.
"Of course, I should've known that where ever Carla goes, you follow" I smirked, watching as Shin raised my hand to kiss it.

"Its always a pleasure to see you again, Princess" He smiled widely, showing off his white fangs which glistened in the chandeliers light.

"I could say the same, old friend" I chuckled and took a sip of my martini.
Shin brought over his brandy as well and took a sip, in sync with me even when setting it on the table.

As Shin and I exchanged words and made a good conversation, the music changed drastically after a short break and instantly got people up and dancing.

"Care to dance, m'lady?" He smirked, watching as more and more people headed towards the main floor of the hall.
I looked at him and raised my eyebrow.

"How could I pass up such an offer?" I giggled, taking shins larger hand and watching as he slipped off the seat and lead me to the dance floor.

All night, I danced, laughed, and flirted with different men and woman. They're smiled and chuckles ringing in my ears like a melody.
Shin, Carla and I teamed up to hunt for the time being, and luckily, I spotted a man nearby who I had talked to. We hit it off, and I took him out of the ballroom and into a nearby alleyway. My throat was as dry as a dessert and every time I swallowed, I cringed at the awful feeling of dryness. Even my saliva couldn't quench it, I needed blood, and I needed it fast.

And I got it by the end of the night. Like I always do.
