"NO, MY BABY!" Christa howled at the devastating news of her daughters 'death'.
Karl, Eves father, held Christa close as she sobbed and panicked in destress.
Guards were at the tower doors, watching them both as they mourned over their late daughter. Karl's hand was stroking Christas soft white hair, and sat completely still when her hands gripped at his shirt, ripping it slightly.

He was in pain as well, he didn't know where his daughter went and he didn't want to come to the conclusion that she died or was possibly killed by hunters...
God, he prayed she was alive, he'd never been so scared in his life. Ever.

(The boys)

Down in the mansions garden the boys sat in silence.
The leaves attached to the rose bushes rustled, creating an ugly sound that made the boys wince.
"w-wh..." Ayato stopped his words. His voice was croaky and his eyes were puffy and sore from crying so much.
"what are we gonna do...?" His words were almost impossible to make out. The sound of hurt and sadness tearing his voice apart like paper.
Next to Ayato was Laito, who's eyes were just as sore and swollen. Out of all the boys, surprisingly, Ayato and Laito were the ones who fell apart the most. Of course, they weren't as effected as Subaru was...

Shu was sitting on the cold, damp pathway, his head buried in his knees as his arms wrapped around his legs, rocking back and forth in the slightest way.
"I don't know..." Shu's voice wailed in pain, a loud voice crack breaking its way just after he  said the last word.
A maid was sitting by him, a fairly old maid in her late 50's with grey hair and faint lines around her eyes and mouth. She had a comforting arm wrapped around shu's shoulder which he gladly accepted, his face leaning on her shoulder and his eyes still glistening with tears.
The maid, too, was very sad about the news. Her heart shattered, she cried as well as the boys and tried her best to comfort all of them.

The maid treated Eve like she was her own, considering her children were killed in war and her husband died of cancer, she had no one else but the sakamaki's.
They all knew her background, that's why they cherish her as part of the family rather than a maid.
Shu and Eve were especially close with the maid out of everyone. She taught the both of them to play piano, violin, and harp. She taught Eve manners and mannerisms of all sorts, making sure she grew up to be the queen she was destined to be.

The maid looked up at Reiji, who's face showed no emotion but his hands were shaking. His breathing was heavy and he gave off a very angry and upset aura. The maid knew she couldn't do anything to help any of the boys, all she could do was comfort them without making them angry; which was quite a task.
Kanato wasn't with the boys, he was too busy crying over Eve in his own room with Teddy.
Subaru wasn't there either, he couldn't bare to be around anyone of any sorts, including his mother.
Laito leaned up from where he was to crouch down next to Shu.

"I know it's hard Shu, it's hard on all of us... but... we'll get through this" he pressed his forehead against the side of Shu's in hopes it would comfort him. Shu started sobbing again and used his right arm to cling onto his younger brother.
"But... how do you expect us to get through something like this!" He cried, drifting his teeth together and looking up to meet Laito's gaze.
Laito didn't react, instead he sighed and stroked his older brothers hair.
"Eve hasn't left Shu... she'll always be here... in our hearts..." the red head felt himself tearing up and before he knew it, they were falling down his face like mini waterfalls.
"She'll always be here..." he repeated, sounding fragile, broken.
Shu held his younger brother close to him, the rest of the brothers staying silent as they both cried over their sister.

(with Subaru)

Never in a million years had Subaru thought this day would come, especially at such an early time in his life. He was hiding in a restricted part of the gardens, close to his mothers tower.
He was told about what happened at least a few minutes before and he still hadn't stop crying.
His heart was broken, shattered into a million teeny tiny pieces like a smashed mirror.

Subaru crammed himself in the corner of a rose bush, sobbing and chocking on his own breath with how much he was panicking.
The feeling in his chest was burning right through and it felt like he was dying inside.
The young boy's hair was wet because of the rain from an hour ago, but it matched the stones on the ground, damp and dirty.
At the moment, all he could think about was his sister.
It's a lie... it can't be true!! He though, refusing to believe the truth that everyone kept forcing on him.
His father, his brothers, and the maids all told him the same thing and there were brief moments where the truth sunk in like salt in an open wound.
As much as he didn't want to believe it, he had a feeling, a voice that told him to stop believing in the hope that his twin sister was still alive.

The boy shivered as the cold breeze swished against his entire body. The weather suited the atmosphere perfectly, it reminded Subaru of death.

"Oh god..." he mumbled, his voice dripping with terror as his eyes widened.
"What am I going to do...?" His eyes looked up to the moon, it wasn't full but it was incredibly bright.
He knew- he knew he had to face the truth.

(Cordelia)

The mother of the triplets hadn't been told about Eve's death yet.
She was sitting in her patio, stressed because she hadn't seen Eve in at least a week. Richter wasn't there for once, but many maids and butlers gathered at her side for comfort.

Cordelia saw someone in the distance. It was a man who wore complete black and a top hat on his head. He carried a letter in his hand and his eyes were glued to the gravelly ground.
He approached Cordelia softly, stopping and looking at her with very sympathetic eyes.

"Mistress... I am here to inform you about a child called Eve? Do you know her by any chance?" The man's deep voice rung out and the woman immediately stood up.
"Yes! Yes! Where is she?! Is she alright?!" She shouted, desperate for an answer but the man sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Please sit down" he said in a very calm voice.

Cordelia looked up at the man as she sat down, he crouched down and delicately grasped her hands.
"Eve was found this morning by a nearby river"
-She thought this meant Eve was safe. Cordelia sighed in relief and smiled at the man.
"Thank goodness she's alright! I was getting so worried-"
"No- I'm sorry miss, you've got the wrong idea" the man mumbled, taking off his hat and squeezing her hand.
"They took Eve to the hospital this morning, but- but an hour after treating her, she wasn't moving".
Cordelia's heart sank deep into her chest. His words filled her mind and she knew exactly what he meant.
"She... she's dead...?" She could barely get the question out of her mouth.
The man sat in silence before nodding his head slowly.
"I'm so sorry mistress, they did all they could" he stood up, handing the letter over to her which was sealed with red wax.
Cordelia gave up on manners at this moment, her arms and shoulders were limp, her makeup was running down her face, and she burst into uncontrollable tears.
Then, she looked like she was ready to kill someone.
Cordelia ripped the letter open and drank in every word.
"Dear god..." her words dripped with sadness.

"It's true" Cordelia lost balance and collapsed on the ground. She stared up at the sky and closed her eyes.
Then, everything went black.
