(11 year old Eve)I sat up from Shu's bed, my eyes watching as he slept peacefully on the mustard coloured bed. He snored lightly, causing his chest to heave up and down at a steady pace.
I smiled, kissing the side of his face and feeling him shift in his sleep.
I stepped on the carpet beneath my feet and carefully creeped into the corridor outside.
There was a light blaring from the ceiling, blinding me ever so slightly which made me flinch and whimper.
Down the empty corridor I saw a silhouette, it was a male.I let my curiosity get the best of me and walked over to where the figure stood.
It was uncle richter.
My eyes widened when I saw my father in his presence, both of them staring each other down with their piercing red eyes. It frightened me just by watching it.It was clear they had just finished a deep conversation, father scoffing and walking out of the corridor, teleporting to outside when he was out of sight.
Richter sighed and slumped his shoulders in a somewhat defeat.
"I know you're there Eve, it's okay" he mumbled, turning over to see me with a kind smile on his face.
I ran up to him and hugged his waist tightly, tears rubbing down my face as I cling onto him.
"Please don't leave! I don't want you to go!" I cried, shaking my head and hiding it in his coat. Richter picked me up by the waist, even though I was two thirds of his height, and placed me on his hip.
"Now you listen here" he smiled, placing his forehead on mine as we remained eye contact.
"I'm going nowhere and even if I was, I'd take you with me" he gave me a nose kiss and hugged me.
My lip quivered when I gripped onto the back of his coat, not daring to let go as I sniffed back my tears.
"Why does daddy want you to go?" I frowned, the tears still filling my eyes as I looked up at his.
Richter gave me a sad expression and looked away."I'm afraid that's a story for another time" he sighed, kissing the top of my head before placing me on the ground. His hand held my much smaller one as he started walking to the stairwell up ahead.
The one reason we weren't teleporting was because I was the only one in my family that couldn't. I couldn't teleport even if my life depended on it.
Father believed that mother cheated on him with a human but it was physically proven that I wasn't a half breed.
And it's simply impossible for a half breed child to survive if they were created, not bitten.
Bitten half breeds are the more dangerous ones of our species. They don't have pure blood which immediately makes them outlaws.
I've never met a half blood before but my Father's fought with many of them if I believe so.
Father always teaches my brothers an I about half breeds, saying that you should never get in trouble with one because they will guarantee to beat you, and possibly kill you if you go to far.
I don't believe that they will positively beat you, I mean, us purebloods are strong enough to take down an entire army of fully grown human men.I quickly realised that I was thinking all to myself, unaware of what was happening before stumbling down the stairs.
I banged my head at the bottom, my temple coming in contact with the cold concrete floor which made me wince. Before my body was damaged by the impact, Richter rapidly lifted me up and held me close. I was unconscious, but I felt blood running down my head. My mouth was closed and my head was hung back.
Richter cursed and teleported to my room, placing me on my bed which was freshly made by one of the maids. Richter vanished for a moment before snapping back with a wet cloth and bandages, a fearful expression written on his face.
There was an unbearable pain in my head, the noises muffled and my eyesight hazy.
I had seemed to be crying since my eyes were wet, but I wasn't making a single sound.
Richter pressed the wet and steaming cloth against my deep would and closed his eyes, praying that I would be alright.
Carefully but slowly, I opened my left eye, since my other eye was turning black with the hit I came in contact with. The skin surrounding my right eye swelled up which made it almost impossible for me to open it.
Richter sighed in pure relief and pressed the back of my hand against his forehead. His gloved hand held mine and as I slowly regained consciousness, the pain in my head decreasing slightly when he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I'm sorry I couldn't catch you in time, Eve" he sniffed, looking down in shame as he closed his eyes.
I shook my head.
"No, I should be the one that's sorry, I wasn't paying attention" I frowned, placing my hand on top of his head, his movement still but his breathing hard.
He sighed and looked up, taking my hand and gracefully placing a peck on the back of it.
It made me smile.
Richter unfolded the ball of bandaids and wrapped them around my head, his hand tying my hair back so the bandage wouldn't get caught.
He wrapped it all around my forehead, covering the wound completely which made him breathe a sigh of relief.
"Okay, most of the bleeding's stopped but don't untie that, the would could get infected" he cupped my cheek and traced his thumb over it.
My body creaked as I leaned forward to hug my uncle and press my cheek against his shoulder.
He wrapped his large arms around my frail body and kept me close. I felt safe with him.
He was like a father figure to me. Since my fathers never home, he's always the one to help me when I need it.
He cares for me when I'm hurt or sick, and he laughs with me when i make a funny joke.
He's everything a father should be, loving, kind, sweet, and open to the idea of spending as much time as he can with me.He rocked my body back and fourth, humming a soothing song which soon made me close my eyes.
The pain was like longer there, even when the sound of my uncles voice entered my hearing, i wasn't bothered by it. I snuggled up against Richter and wrapped my arms around his neck, breathing softly when he kissed the top of my head."I love you, daddy" I mumbled, sniffing as tears filled my eyes. Richter stroked my hair and I could feel his happiness emerging. I touched his hand, his feelings radiating into mine which soon made me smile. I could feel how happy he was, the euphoria ripping through his body which sent almost an electric shock to my finger.
"I love you too, Eve" he whispered, his grip not failing to loosen as he closed his eyes and smiled to himself.
