Author's Note: hiya! So, in the last chapter (and this one) Raven acts a little weird. That's because she's been taking care of Jay since he was a young, broken lad, and she's proud of him (like a mother would be) because she helped put his pieces back together. It's a little AU, but that's fine, because she acts mostly in character outside of that. And she'll claim Jay but not Yang because Jay isn't as well as Raven thought Yang to be. We never really did learn why Raven left her so.

Jay reformed himself in the middle of the clearing, looking around. Jonas walked up to him but he pushed past him, and the food area, instead running to the training area. He saw Vernal in there and grinned but accidentally snapped a twig in his approach of her. She turned and saw it was Jay before walking out the other door of the tent.

"Vernal, wait!" He cried, chasing after her. She, however, knew the camp better then him and made it to her tent before he could catch her. The rules of the camp state you don't barge into someone's tent (unless you're Raven), so Jay sat outside her tent, waiting for her to come out.

"Y'know I can wait as long as I need to, 'Nally." He informed her. "I got stuff to say to you, and I know you wanna say stuff to me, so I'll wait til you're done being stubborn if I have to."

He heard Vernal huff and he grinned, knowing he would get to her. He smiled and talked to everyone who passed by, while sitting in front of the tent so Vernal couldn't sneak by him. Dinner was served by Jonas, and Jay put Vernal's next to his so she could come get it. She did, slapping Jay on the back of his head as she passed.

"Oh, you love me!" He raged happily. Vernal flipped him off as he laughed. After 3 days of this, Jay's patience wearing thinner and thinner as time went on, Vernal charged out of her tent, hands on her hips.

"Alright, are you done being an ass!?" She screamed at him.

"Are you ready to talk?" Jay asked, unimpressed.

"I don't wanna talk to you!" Vernal exclaimed.

"And why the hell not?!" Jay said back, reaching his feet.

"I don't need to talk to you!"

"Well I wanna talk to you!"

"Too bad!"

"What?!"

"You don't deserve me!"

"Did I ever have you?"

"Don't try to spin this back on me!"

"Don't try to act like this isn't about you!"

"Jay! Vernal!" Raven yelled. Jay and Vernal both looked up, seeing everyone in the camp gathered around and staring at them. They had the decency to look a little sheepish with Jay rubbing the back of his head nervously. "Take it inside the tent please?" Raven asked, palming her face.

Vernal nodded while shrinking inside quickly. Jay, however, growled at the crowd, causing most of them to shrink back.

"The hell are you looking at?!" Jay screamed, causing the crowd to scatter, though Raven just smirked at him.

He sheepishly grinned at her before sliding his way back into the tent. Once inside, Vernal slammed into Jay's chest, wrapping her arms around his waist, his arms sliding to the small of her back.

"I missed you, you idiot." Vernal muttered into his chest.

Jay smiled, tightening his arms around her. "You think I didn't miss you too, Sunspot?" He inquired, shaking her back and forth. He was growing to be taller then her, a fact that neither of them noticed until Vernal comfortably rested her head in his chest moments ago.
