Author's Note: this is the last chapter before Jay gets to Beacon. He didn't meet all the characters yet, true, but he met the important ones that might be interested in him! I don't have a pairing yet, so if you think of one just let me know. Just who you think has the best chemistry with him. I'm gonna see who he has the most chemistry with him before I force a pairing down our throats!

Jay groaned, trudging through the streets of Vale at night. He was on the fourth day of his trip, which only gave him tonight to get the last of the dust he needed, plus travel all the way back to the tribe.

'This is all the White Fang's fault.' Jay thought to himself. 'Making it so hard for a man like myself to find dust, now I'm gonna have to push my Semblance to get back to the tribe before they moved.' He groaned again before trudging into the 7th dust shop that week, smiling at the old shop keeper.

He walked to the back of the shop, grabbing a dust holder and starting with the ice dust. The bell rang as another customer came in and he cursed, grabbing another cartridge to fill up on fire dust. 'Gotta do this quickly before the other person tries to get some.'

"C-can I help you boys?" The shop keeper asked nervously.

"No old man. You just stay there and be old, and we'll clean your shop out for you. Then we'll be out of your hair and you can act like this night never happened. No one has to get hurt tonight."

Jay perked up, turning the corner to see one of Junior's thugs pointing his blade at the shop keeper. He wanted to turn away and mind his own business, but something called out to him that he just couldn't ignore.

"Really? 'Stand there and be old?' That's the best line you can think of?" Jay forced out through a laugh. The thug turned to him and he grinned, slapping his cestus together.

"You wanna do something, tough guy? Me and Frigid Defiance haven't gotten any action on a LONG time." Jay smiled, motioning towards his cestus. The thug had the decency to look squeamish, before the sound of glass shattering caught his attention. He turned to see one of his cohorts being sent through the window, but that's all he could see, as Jay took the opportunity to sucker punch him, driving him through 3 magazine racks.

"Sorry old man, I'll come clean up later!" He screamed, running outside. He slammed his ice dust into Twisted Glacier after he unsheathed it, staring at the top of a building in disgust.

"Of course. Roman-Fucking-Torchwick."

He sighed, using his Semblance to cut Roman off. Roman started, before grinning madly, almost placing his hand on Jay's shoulder.

"Doggy! Old buddy, old pal! Man am I glad to see you. Junior sent you as backup ri-"

He didn't get to finish his sentence, as the tip of Twisted Glacier was slid under his chin. "No, he kinda didn't." Jay chuckled. "You interrupted my mission, and for that you die."

"No!" He heard someone yell. "Don't kill him!"

He turned to look at a girl in a red hood, but the momentary distraction caught him. Roman set off an explosion, blasting Jay over the edge of the building and allowing him to climb into the fast approaching Bullhead. However, before Jay could disperse into shadows and save himself, he was trapped in a purple outline and raised back up to stare into the eyes of Roman as he got into a Bullhead.

"We've got a huntress!" Roman yelled in fear, running to the front of the Bullhead. Jay stopped paying attention, more focused on struggling out of the field he was trapped in, before the sound of violence stopped. Jay looked up, before being brought face to face with Glynda Goodwitch, the woman's face scrunched up in a way that only could be called disdain.
