Hermione frowned, her eyes wandering over to Harry, who was completely besotted with Cho Chang. Gulping, she pushed back tears, approaching her vibrant redheaded best friend.
"Hey, I think I'm done for tonight." She softly murmured, not able to break her gaze away from the duo.
"Why? Didn't you finish all your assignments? Besides, Herms, tomorrow's Saturday!" Ron chuckled, confused about why Hermione was acting strange.
"Ronald, don't call me that. And I know, I'm just tired." Hermione lied, glaring daggers at the Ravenclaw. Following her gaze, Ron nodded, mumbling a small "oh."
"Well, I'll see you later..." The brunette falsely smiled, giving Ron a friendly hug. "Thanks for understanding."

Upon arriving at the Gryffindor common room, Hermione abruptly noticed she left her book, Hogwarts a History, with Luna. Sighing, she stood up from the armchair, jogging out of the room.
The corridors were packed with anxious students, who were each bolting to their dormitories, before they were caught, and punished for being a part of Dumbledore's Army. She lightly chuckled, the thoughts of Harry and Cho fleeing her mind.
Hastily, Hermione entered the Room of Requirements, scanning it for her novel. However, before she could find it, she heard an inaudible sniffing noise. Before Hermione could respond, she heard another voice. A different voice. His voice.
Hermione huffed, hiding behind the small table, her eyes glued to the corner where the noise was coming from. Curiosity got the best of her, no matter how hard she tried her best to resist it. Swiftly, she peeked around the corner, regretting it afterward.
Her eyes immediately fell upon them, filling Hermione with a sense of strong anger. She winced as she caught sight of Cho- who sneakily conjured a mistletoe branch. Hermione's blood began to boil, and she mentally prepared herself for what would come next.
Leave. Her conscious seemed to repeat this one phrase, almost begging her to listen. The brunette painfully tore her eyes away from the couple, leaving the room. Hot tears started to carelessly drip down her cheeks, like a rain cloud that was ready to burst.
At the thought of them, Hermione's fist curled up, tightly pressing her fingernails into the palms of her hand. However, she didn't seem to care, even if she were to leave small scratches.
Instantly, she mumbled the password, ignoring the Fat Lady's sympathetic looks. Hermione collapsed on the armchair, her eyes glued to the roaring fire. Wiping her eyes, she began to sob more at the thought of him kissing her.
However, a soft creak quickly shut her up, as she tried her best to remain hidden from view. This tactic didn't go as planned, for Hermione could hear his footsteps behind her.
"Mione?" Harry questioned, his voice coming out as a faint whisper. Slowly, he approached her, sitting beside the curly-headed girl.
Frowning, Hermione wiped away her tears, in a desperate attempt to hide the fact that she was crying. Unfortunately, Harry had already seen and was now holding his arms out for her to embrace.
Despite the fact that Hermione wanted to push him away, she couldn't, and instead snuggled closer to him, sobbing once more.
"What happened?" The boy asked, his vibrant green eyes glazed over with concern.
"Nothing..." Hermione whined, her voice coming out as a quiet cry.
Harry nodded, caressing her back delicately, almost as if he was afraid of hurting her. His hot breath ricocheted against Hermione's neck, sending shivers down her spine.
After a brief moment, her cries began to cease, flooding Harry with relief. Hermione hesitantly looked up, gulping to hold back more tears. Green met chocolate brown, as the duo swiftly locked eyes, erupting butterflies in Hermione's stomach.
Harry slowly leaned towards her, whispering into her ear. "Don't worry, Mione. I didn't kiss her."
