𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭

She gazed over at him, almost in awe, for she loved the way the sun reflected off his face, as it slowly set. Grinning, she scanned over his face, absorbing in all of his features- almost like she was afraid that at any given moment, he would leave.

Her attention fell onto his eyes, watching as they sparkled slightly against the orangish sun, sending a smile to her face. Reluctantly, she tore her focus away from him, and onto the lake, as the waters drearily brushed against the sandy shore.

However, despite her previous action, she found her chocolatey brown eyes drifting back towards him, begging for his attention. Slowly, she looked up from the water, meeting his emerald eyes instantly after. For what felt like minutes, they stared at each other, none of them daring to pull their eyes away.

He lovingly smiled at her, running a hand through his black hair to smooth it down. Nonetheless, this only made it messier, causing him to heartily chuckle. His laughter floated throughout the air, ringing sweetly in her ears, for she adored the sound of his euphoria.

Painfully, she ripped her perpetual gaze away from him, and instead, towards the grass. She watched as it delicately blew in the breeze, brushing against her legs. Giggling, she swatted away the grass that had previously tickled her. Upon hearing this, he looked up at her once more, his eyes glazed over with compassion and love.

She didn't seem to notice that he hesitantly began to scoot closer to her, his hand finding its way to her soft cheek. Slowly, he leaned in, his lips smoothly brushing against hers. The kiss was sweet, and completely full of emotion, like they had both been waiting for this precise moment.

She pulled away first, giddily collapsing back onto the grass. He soon followed her movements, allowing her to place her head on his chest, as they peacefully glanced at the sunset.
