Harry frowned, collapsing onto the bed that he slept in at the Weasleys. Nobody even remembers. He thought, groaning loudly. It wasn't like he was expecting anybody to remember that it was his birthday, it had been this way his whole life. That was until he had met Hermione and Ron, but however, they didn't even seem to notice this year.

"Harry!!" Hermione exclaimed, knocking on the bedroom door. "Are you up here?!"

"Yeah, I'll be down in a second." Harry replied, running a hand through his hair in a desperate attempt to smooth it down. Rather than flattening his hair, it only became messier, causing him to chuckle.

Eventually, he gave up, exciting the bedroom. "Hermione?" He murmured, searching for his best friend who was just outside the door.

"I'm in the kitchen!" A faint voice giggled from below, causing Harry to smile, for he was quite aware of the massive crush he had developed on Hermione.

He shrugged, jogging down the stairs. Harry's eyes widened as he scanned the kitchen for Hermione, but still, he couldn't spot her. "Uh...Mione where did you go?"

Just after he had said that, two warm hands wrapped around his torso from behind. "Happy Birthday Harry." Hermione muttered, her face buried into his neck, for she was a good five inches shorter than he was.

Harry instantly turned around, gripping onto the brunette's waist, and twirling her around in the air. Hermione giggled softly, interlacing their hands and pulling him outside.

"You know, I really thought you forgot about my birthday..." He whispered, sitting down under a willow tree.

"I'll never forget your birthday." She said, beaming at Harry. A faint blush appeared on Harry's cheeks as he noticed Hermione was still holding his hand.

"I got you something...but it's inside." Hermione mumbled, looking slightly nervous.

"You didn't have to get me anything, Mione."

"Are you kidding? You're my best friend! But I also wanted to tell you something, that's why I brought you out here."

Harry nodded, his cheeks glowing red. He watched as Hermione stood up, motioning him to follow. When they were both up, she grabbed his hand once more, pulling him along.

"Here..." She started, beaming at him as they walked past the stream.

"So, what did you want to tell me?" Harry asked, anxiety bubbling within him.

"Oh-" Hermione gulped. "It doesn't matter now, it probably wouldn't be the best if I told you."

Harry's heart shattered. "Mione, you can tell me anything. But if you don't want to, I don't want to force you."

"No, I'll tell you. I have a crush on this one guy, he is amazing, caring, sweet, funny, and not to mention extremely attractive. But, I don't know how to tell him." She awkwardly said, blushing brightly.

Harry's heart broke once more. "I would be honest with him, chances are he'll like you back."

"Ok, but how do I tell him?"

"Just say: I like you." Harry shrugged, forcing a smile onto his face.

"I like you." Hermione murmured, scratching the back of her neck.

"Great, now tell him that." Harry bluntly said, locking eyes with her. "Wait-"

"Yeah, I like you."

"That makes more sense. Sorry, I suck at this kind of stuff, but I like you too." Harry grinned, tightening his grip on her hand.

Hermione planted a soft kiss on his cheek, as she pulled him down beside her to sit on the grass. Together they began to stargaze, their hands never leaving each other.

"Thanks, Mione."

"For what?" Hermione simply replied, turning on her side towards him.

Harry grinned, tucking a strand of her curly hair behind her ear. "For the best birthday ever."
