"Hermione...." Harry murmured, his voice shaking as he fidgeted with his hands. "Can we talk for a minute?"

The brunette gulped, quickly noticing her boyfriend's hesitant, strange behavior. "Yeah, o-of course we can." She stuttered, as her nails unconsciously began to scratch against her palms. "Is everything alright?"

Harry didn't answer, but instead, patted the seat beside him, motioning her to sit. She slowly did, for she was completely scared of what he was going to say.

"I've been thinking lately..." Harry started, trailing off suddenly as if he was in deep thought. "And I've decided that the only way that we can ever Voldemort, is by hunting and destroying all the Horcruxes. Which means, that I'll be leaving Hogwarts next year to start the search."

"Oh..." Hermione murmured, her voice was barely audible to Harry. "That's fine, I'll just come with you! Plus, it can't hurt to have someone to help." She exclaimed, chuckling lightly in relief.

"Mione, that's the thing-" The green-eyed boy mumbled, his gaze lowering to his lap. "I can't let you come with me."

"Why not?" Hermione questioned softly, anxiously placing her hands on top of her boyfriend's warm ones.

Harry's eyes were glued to their intertwined hands, and he couldn't help the strong feeling of guilt that brewed inside him. He gingerly caressed her hand, sending goosebumps to her arms from the sudden touch.

"Hermione, I can't let you get hurt, you mean too much to me. You have to stay here, that's the only way I'll know you're safe."

Hermione's eyes filled to the brim with tears, as she locked eyes with her boyfriend. "Does this mean you're breaking up with me?" She whispered, her voice cracking, as she began to slightly chock on her tears.

"Mione..." Harry hummed, wrapping his masculine arms around her small waist, as he pulled her closer to him. "I don't want to, but I need to end the war, I'm doing this for your safety."

"If you don't want to, then don't! It's perfectly simple." The curly-headed girl smirked, flirtily nuzzling her head against Harry's chest.

"Love-" Harry protested, squirming out of her comforting grip. "You know how much I love you, and how hard this is for me, so please don't make it any harder."

Hermione huffed, sharply standing up, and frantically wiping her eyes. Her quiet sniffles cracked Harry's heart, and he couldn't bring himself to look up at her. "No..."

"No?" Harry repeated, his tone of voice was laced with confusion.

"No, I refuse to let you go on this journey alone. I don't care how much you try and push me away, I'm staying with you and there is nothing you can do that will change that."

Harry groaned in defeat, resting his head in his hands. "Gosh, you're so stubborn."

Hermione giggled, sitting beside him once more, a large smirk pulling at the corners of her lips. "I knew you'd give in, you love me too much."

"Heck yeah I do, you're my everything. I just can't stand to watch you get hurt, you're too important to me." Harry mumbled, sweetly resting his hand on her thigh in a loving manner.

"I promise you, I'll be safe. Plus you'll always be there to protect me." Hermione mumbled, scooting closer to her boyfriend. In a brief moment, they were close enough to feel each other's warm breaths brushing against their faces.

Harry slowly leaned in, connecting their lips at once. His hand left her thigh, traveling up to her check, as he softly stroked it, sending shivers down Hermione's spine.

"You'd got to be pretty stupid to stick by me, honestly. Who knows how dangerous this will be..." Harry chuckled, peppering sweet kisses along Hermione's check as she giggled softly.

"That can't be right, after all, I am the brightest witch of our age..."
