Her hands slowly caressed her temple, as she concentrated deeply. How is he the top of the class?! I have always been! Lately, he as that boo- I KNOW! It is the book, there must be something about it. Hermione had finally discovered why her best friend had risen, above her, to the top of the class.

The portrait hole opened to the Gryffindor Common Room, and in walked Harry Potter, with his book held firmly in his grasp. Hermione made an agile jump, desperately trying to yank the book from his firm grip. Harry smirked as he purposely held the book high above his head, where- he knew- that his best friend could not reach.

"I just want to look at it!" Hermione insisted.

"Umm- the binding's fragile."

"THE BINDING IS FRAGILE??"

"Yes, I don't want you to break it!" He arrogantly said, giving her a small lopsided smile. Hermione huffed in defeat, collapsing back onto the armchair.

Her best friend plopped down next to her, but Hermione still refused to look him in the eye. Harry delicately poked her shoulder. Finally, she turned to look at him, her glare sinking deep into his soul. Harry frowned upon seeing her look directed upon him.

"Come on!" He pleaded, prodding her side with his elbow.

Hermione folded her arms against her chest, turning away from him yet again. Harry swiftly started to tickle her side again, trying to cheer her up. She started to giggle uncontrollably, while she tried to swat him away with her dainty hands.

"Say that you aren't mad at me, and I will let you go."

Hermione- as stubborn as she is- still refused to say anything. Even when Harry's tickling got annoying, Hermione's lips stayed tightly closed.

"Please don't be angry, Hermione." Harry frowned, begging her.

"Ha!" Hermione exclaimed, yanking the book from him. "I got you!"

She flipped through the pages, anxiously trying to find out who the strange book belonged too. It wouldn't just be doing Harry a favor, no, it would be doing herself one, by giving her a brief chance to rise to the top of the class.

When Hermione finally found the correct page, she blurted out a question, a question that she thought could "only" be answered by the library. "Who's the Half Blood Prince?!!!"
