Chapter 5: Discovery

I don't even understand why I need to go to this school. I was better off where I lived...back there I didn't have these weird feelings that I still can't put my finger on... 
"Merida pay attention!” screams the teacher as she pulls me back into cruel reality. All the kids in class start laughing. Ugh… I slide down on my chair covering my face with my hair. "Merida!" screams the teacher again. "Yes yes, techa'!" I say sarcastically. I look up at the teacher and at the vein popping out of her forehead... Sheesh she has some anger issues. 

"Pssst Merida" I hear Rapunzel whisper to me. "Whut?" I whisper back. "What's wrong?" she whispers. I look at her confused nothing is wrong with me. "Whut are ye talking about?" I whisper. Rapunzel looks as if she was questioning herself over something. "Never mind..." I sigh and continue pretending that I’m listening to the teacher. "Don't you think Elsa and Hiccup make a cute couple?" Rapunzel quietly whisper. "Whut?" I say out loud.

 "Mrs. DubBroch office now!" Says Mrs. Anger management.

 "But...techa'" I say looking back and forth from the teacher to Rapunzel. Punzel looks at me apologetically. The teacher looks mad and finally lets out a long sigh. "Only because it’s the second day of school I'll just have you sit outside." The teacher says as she rubs her temples. I don't answer, but I do get up and walk towards the door. Well at least she's not that much of a pushover.

 I sit next to the door. "Whut’s wrong with meh." I say quietly as I lean on the wall and look up at the ceiling.

*Jack*
Stupid 5th period. Theres no even point in going today. But why do I feel so bugged! Ugh. I scratch my head in exasperation. "Hey watch where ye going?!" I hear a familiar accent. I look down at Merida who was sitting on the floor." What are you doing out her on the ground.” I ask as if I hadn’t stepped on her. "I got sent out" she says as she gets up from the ground. "Why aren't ye in class?" She asks me.

 "Uh well I'm going to the bathroom...?" I try to say as convincingly as possible. She raises an eyebrow, "I dun't believe ye." Quick think of something Jack. "Uhhh"

-bell rings-

Phew saved by the bell. I was about to go when suddenly students began to pour out of their classes. One of those people were Hiccup and Elsa. They both walked out of class together talking. They didn’t see me due to some kids getting in my way.

“Ughhhh” I hear Merida groan, frustration burrowing her eyebrows. “See ya after school Merida.”  I say as I run to class. There was this feeling in me that made me want to go to class as soon as possible.

 When I arrive at the class it was early and just a few people were in class, and one of those people was Elsa.

I stared at her until she looked at me “H- hi Jack” she says uneasily. I smile a cocky smile. What am I doing? “So Miss Popular, you’re actually saying hi to me.” I say. She bites her lip. Ugh. “Yeah, were friends now, right?” She says.

 “Well yeah I would guess so.” I say nonchalantly as I sit down. She smiles…all of a sudden the class starts looking at her shocked. I quickly gett up and cover her mouth with my hands so that no one elsa would see her smile.

“Jack” she says muffled by my hands. “Uhh err sorry…” I say and let go. She looks at me confused but brushes it off. Why’d I do that!? She probably thinks I’m weird. And as per usual Whispers were heard, one of them went like, “Did he just dare touch the Queen”

Ugh enough with this queen.

 I turn my attention to the front of the classroom as the bell rings. I could feel my eyebrows burrowing against one another.

“Okay class quiet down!” the teacher begins saying as he shakes his hand to stop the class from whispering. “Today we will be working on a project!” The class and myself groan at this horrible news. “BUT! You will be working in a group of two!” the teacher finishes saying. I groaned again but the rest of the class began looking excited, and then all of a sudden all eyes were on Elsa.

 “I choose Jack!” Elsa says loudly. Her sudden outburst then made everyone’s eyes turn on me. “But, Queen!” “I thought it was finally my turn to group with the Queen” “No fair Copy cat!” “Who the hell is this Jack?!”

“OKAY CLASS BE QUIET AND CHOOSE A PARTNER!” screams the teacher over the arguments. The class settles and people began choosing other partners. I turn around in my seat to face Elsa, as soon as we make eye contact i raise an eyebrow at her. She looked back to her old self. She had her head tilted back and her eyes slightly slanted looking down on me.

 "What?" She says. "Nothing, nothing. Was just wondering why you chose me. Ms. Popular." I say. She looked hesitant for half a second before going regal again. "Isn't it obvious? Were friends...friends work together." She says the last few words almost unsure. I sigh loudly. "You know the rest of your class wanted you as a partner" I say. She bites her lip. "Well i wanted you" she says.

 I couldn’t help but feel a little flustered, "W-whatever" I say swishing around in my seat to face the front. The teacher began talking about the project.
...
Finally the teacher gave the final instruction as the bell rang. The whole class sighs heavily. 
I lay my head down on my arms at my desk; that is until I feel a presence next to me. I look up to see Elsa.

"The bell rang you know" she says looking down at me confused. As I get up I swing my backpack over my shoulder. "Yeah yeah I know." I say coolly. I start to walk away. I feel Elsa not following me. Should I...

"Well aren't you coming" I say as I stuff my hands in my jacket and turn around. Elsa looks surprised and says "Uh yeah." she jogs to me while clutching on to each of her backpack straps. I turn around and walk again. As I walk with her I hear the usual whispers. “Why is he with her?” etc. etc. 
... 
I lay on my bed as soon as I arrive in my dormitory. Ever since last night I’ve had so much self-confidence... and it’s all thanks to... I look up at my ceiling, last night's reminder thawing out.

 I smile to myself. I can't believe it...after years of being always ignored...I now know what my purpose has been all this time, why I was treated invisible why lately I've been so sensitive when it came to coldness...

I clutch onto the old wooden rod/staff North had given me when he had adopted me I hold it out slightly and shoot out frost from it….

SANTA CLAUS! TOOTHFAIRY! BUNNY! SANDMAN!

And now Jack Frost, the winter spirit.
