Chapter 28: Protect

 Wednesday; 5th week of school

*Flynn*
"As their popularity goes down ours goes up. We need to protect our new gain." Aladdin says placing his hands behind his neck leaning on a window, closing his eyes.

"Are you talking about the 'Royalties'?" Adam asked with his usual stoic glare.
"But, of course. I don't even understand why they're so popular." Aladdin continues.
"Same." Adam grunts.
-Bell Rings-
"But, tell me why." Aladdin says opening an eye. "Why, Flynn isn't talking." He says finally looking at me. Sigh, "What do you want now?" I ask as I get up from my seat.

"Have you gotten a little too close to those members?"  Aladdin asked coming closer to me.

"Yeah, so what." I say standing up to him, I was taller than him and I used that to my advantage. "Listen here Rider. We sent you to that group to steal their 'crown' not to be buddies with them. You're nothing like them!" He says squinting his eyes on me.
"Fuck off." I say venomously at my friend. "Watch it Rider or I'll make sure you're cut from this group. "He sneered at me, making me almost flinch...almost.

But, before his threat could take any effect a girl's voice rang in. "Ali!" A short girl with voluminous black hair says running up to Aladdin.

Aladdin instantly blushed and before I could laugh he looked at me, "Shut up."

He instantly went to the girl, leaving Adam and me behind.

The beast and I looked at one another and roared in laughter. But as if on cue, a frail girl with brown hair carrying a large book entered the class, Adams eyes instantly followed.
"I'm going to class." He grunts as he storms the opposite direction of the girl.

This group is already cut off.
"Eugene!" I hear a girl call out, the only girl that ever called me that.
"What are you doing here?" I asked the golden girl. "I just came to see you." Rapunzel says looking up at me.

I smile. "Don't tell me you're worried about me?" I say flashing my teeth. She squinted her eyes and looked away pouting, "Shut up. Its just you haven't come to class lately." Was her response.

I laughed and ruffled her hair, "Don't, worry. I can't ditch forever." I say as she fixed her long hair.
"Great, now come wait with me." She instantly says dragging me out of my class and out into the hall and on.

What's up with this girl, she acts so casual with me. A girl has never acted this comfortably around me before. Maybe I'm just losing my charm.

When she finally let go of me I stood in front of Elsa. "Hi, Flynn." She said, her eyes steady. "Elsa, how're you feeling?" I ask slightly guilty, I felt as if she had collapsed because of what I told her. "Better. But, Let's talk more about...'the subject' after school, okay?" Elsa asks looking at me seriously.

"What're you doing 'ere?" I suddenly hear a Scottish accent say. I instantly turn around and face Merida. "Hey there, Scottish." I playfully say.

She huffed up her cheeks as they reddened up, "I told ye to not call me that." She says glaring at me.

I laughed at her reaction feeling a tug on my heart. It wasn't unusual that my heart did that when I was around Merida. But, lately it had been growing less and less frequent and also less strong.
"Yeah, yeah I know."

I don't see Merida the way I used to. I'm not in love, am I? No, not like Aladdin with Jasmine or even Adam with Belle. Its nothing like that.
