Chapter 6: Powers

I'm still new to these powers so I should be careful. I look over at my desk. 12:35 a.m. that's a pretty careful time. I breathe in and out slowly. Okay Jack you can do this. I slowly step out onto my window frame. I shrug to myself.. It's now or never!

I jump holding my staff out and in a few seconds I was... FALLING! NO NO NO! I shut my eyes tightly. My dorm room was on the fourth floor, so I was falling fast to the ground. Okay Jack you just need to believe. I slowly open my eyes to the view of a sparkling city on a late fall night. I smile great as I feel the wind on my face. I did it..Yes! I pound my fist into the air! Woohoo! I say as I spiral into the cold air.

"Take me away wind!"

So many boxes so little time I say as i yawn... What time is it? I usually have pascal remind me of the time but my parents had told me I'd be best to leave him..

-sigh-

I take out my phone from my pocket to check the time... 12:35 am! Oh no its past my bed time... Oh wait. I don't have one I say and giggle to myself... I get up and stretch. That's better. I try to stifle my yawn this time but it comes out anyways. I'm really tired but I need to finish I say to myself as I rub my eyes...

I have an idea.. I go to my door and open it to check the hallways for any stray people roaming around... No one and no one.. No one's around.... A smile slowly starts to form on my face. Okay! I can do this. I grab my brush as i get on my bed and sit down. I breathe in and out once as I close my eyes. I slowly begin to brush my long golden lockes..

Flower, gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine
Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost

I slowly open my eyes feeling refreshed. I did it... I let myself fall onto my bed. The last time I sang this song was when I found out I was kidnapped... I shut my eyes as I feel horrible memories starting to form... My mind drifts, and unwillingly i begin to think about my kidnapper.. "She was wrong about the world...and she was wrong about me!" i say outloud.

I jerk up and open my eyes. i feel them swelling up with tears. "No! no! no! I will not let myself cry over that horrid women who kidnapped me and abused my powers." I wipe my tears and say to myself...I have discovered a beautiful world! A magnificent world where I can be free...free outside the tower. I get off my bed and run to my window, loudly throwing the shutters wide open. I lean on the ledge and breathe in the cold air..

Oh what's this? I peer into the night sky
What's that white flying thing...paper? I squint my eyes harder to see closer... 
Snow?

*Hiccup* 
And with one last tweak ..done! Yes! Finally, after a week of reading that book and a day of actually using my mechanical engineering. I have made five mini dragons!

 I turn on each dragon. They begin to fly around me. This is magnificent I say as I yawn quickly. What, why am I tired? What time is it? I swivel around in my chair to look at my clock. 12:35 a.m.... What the! Why is it so late! I've been working on my dragons for 7 hours!...

I lean back in my chair and look up at the ceiling and breathe out, I should probably sleep. Suddenly the one i just finished making lands on my nose. I smile at it. "We'll aren't you cute." I say to my creation. "Huh, what kind did I make you?" I say again to my mechanical dragon. I position myself correctly in my chair and turn to my desk.
