The next morning, Bonnie – the Bennett Witch – and her mother, Abby were walking up to the Mikaelson house, as invited by Esther.
"Who's the creepy, lurky guy?" Abby asked as they approached Esther and Finn.
"Esther's son, Finn. He's a Vampire, so..." Bonnie replied, gesturing to her ear to inform her mother that he could hear her.
"Wonder what your Grams thinks about the part we're playing in all this 'balance of nature' stuff." Abby chuckled.
"She's probably on the other side, screaming about getting involved in Vampire business." Bonnie sighed, reminiscing the times with her grandmother before she died.
"Bennett Witches. Thank you for coming." Esther greeted with a smile on her face and her arms outstretched. "I can think of no better allies than the woman who sent Mikael into his long sleep and the girl who fought Niklaus so bravely."
"Why exactly did you invite us here?" Abby asked, growing rapidly impatient.
"You are descendants of the Witch Ayana. She was a great mentor of mine and I think it's only fitting that I draw from her bloodline." Esther informed the pair.
"So you're channelling our ancestors?" Bonnie raised an eyebrow.
"I draw from the entirety of the Bennett bloodline, living and dead. The connection affords me great power, although it is somewhat difficult to maintain, which is why I require you; mother and daughter - the bloodline made manifest. Tonight, my sisters, we shall bring peace to the spirits of nature that we serve and for that I thank you." Esther smiled.
Abby and Bonnie looked at each other, unsure of what was to come.
Meanwhile, Rayna and Damon remained at the Boarding house, still with no sign of Elena.
There was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it." Rayna sighed, getting up from her spot on the couch.
She answered it to reveal Elijah, who smiled.
"Elijah! What are you doing here?" The Heretic asked.
"I have some news on your Doppelganger problem." He said.
Rayna looked at him confused.
Damon came to the door.
"Do you know where she is?" He asked.
"Might I come in?" Elijah pressed.
"I can't find her anywhere." Stefan called through the house about twenty minutes later as he slammed the front door.
He walked into the sitting room to see Elijah stood by the fireplace, Rayna with her head in her hands on the couch and Damon looking about ready to kill.
"Hello, Stefan." Elijah greeted with a smile.
"He has Elena." Damon growled to his brother.
Stefan adopted his brother's expression, making Rayna wonder if then would be a good time to intervene.
"Actually, she's with Rebekah. As you can imagine, my sister is just dying to tear her throat out. So if you want to save Elena's life, I need you to help me stop my mother." The Original told them.
"Elijah, you know I can help you better than anyone. Leave Elena out of this. You don't need to use her as leverage when you have me." The Heretic sighed, standing up.
"I have a feeling that Stefan and Damon would be more effective should something go wrong. Besides, with the rather important detail about you that you've chosen to not disclose to them, I'm surprised you're so willing to sabotage that secret to help." Elijah tilted his head to the girl.
Rayna's eyes fluttered briefly, knowing the secret about her magic would most likely crumble after that.
"There was no need for that. I just want to help." Rayna growled. "But if you're going to be like that, forget it. I think whilst the boys are helping you, I'll save Elena, myself – ripping your sister's head off in the process. I believe she's long overdue."
"You know, I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but when it comes to killing thousand year old resurrected Witches, I'm a little rusty. Perhaps Rayna and her secret should help." Damon pointed out.
"No, by all means. Oil that rust." Rayna said, scowling at Elijah.
"Yes, unfortunately, even when killed, my mother doesn't seem to want to stay dead. Not with the spirits of nature on her side." Elijah replied.
"So, what are we supposed to do?" Stefan asked.
"The Witches that released my mother, she's drawing her power from their bloodline. That line needs to be broken." Elijah explained.
"Ha. Not a chance." Rayna scoffed.
"Broken?" Stefan raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, he means..." Damon ran his finger across his neck.
"You want us to kill them..." Stefan clarified with a single nod.
