A few weeks had passed and Rebekah had invited her Vampire Hunter to dinner at the castle.
Niklaus and Elijah didn't have a care in the world about the situation. They thought that, because they were Originals, they'd be fine because they couldn't die unless the Hunter had a white oak stake, which wasn't possible. But Rayna was a little on edge, seeing as she was just part of a bloodline and could be killed a lot easier.

"I can't believe we're wining and dining a Vampire Hunter tonight..." Rayna groaned as her fangs disappeared into Juliette's neck.
Niklaus just finished up his feed on another hand maiden. "All will be well, love. Elijah and I will protect you with our lives." He said as he healed the girl and compelled her to forget the feed.
"It's not that. I just think the whole thing is a bad idea in general." Rayna elaborated.
She too healed and compelled Juliette, sending her on her way to do her daily duties.
"Don't panic, Rayna. If anything, it could be good. If he doesn't realise what we are, he'll be on his merry way and we'll be fine. If he does, we kill him. Simple." Rayna chuckled, wiping the excess blood from her lips.

Later in the day, Rayna was reading a scroll she'd found about the stars, whilst lying on her bed.
Niklaus wanted to talk to her, but couldn't decide on which route to take when it came to wording what he wanted to tell her.
If she found out what he'd discovered on his travels, she could do one of two things; grow scared of him and turn her back on him, or be her usual understanding self and help him in what he had to do to free himself. Half of him knew that she would be herself and help him. But his anxious side, which only ever seemed to come out around his Hybrid love, all but consumed him, making him think she could break away from him.But he knocked on her chamber door anyway.
"Come in!" Rayna called.
Niklaus opened the door and gave her a half smile when he saw her reading on her bed.
"Hello, love." He greeted, not making any effort to keep eye contact with her.
"Hello Niklaus. What can I do for you?" She asked.
"I need to speak to you..." He almost whispered.
"Well then, come and sit. What's troubling you?" She asked, placing the scroll down on the bed sheets next to her.
Niklaus sat on the edge of the bed, right in the middle and took one of Rayna's hands.
"I need to tell someone about what I discovered in Norway." He said.
Rayna looked away, thinking of all the things he could possibly say next.
"You ended up in Norway?" She questioned.
Niklaus nodded. "I thought it my best bet, considering that's where we're from. Anyway... I found the village my parents were from and spoke to their resident witch. She was the great granddaughter of the witch who helped my mother turn us into Vampires. She told me what I already knew about my siblings actually being my half-siblings because my mother had an affair with a Werewolf. And then she told me what I wanted to know, which was how to break the curse that's blocked my Werewolf side."
Rayna took a moment to process this new information.
"So... If you break this curse; you become a Vampire-Werewolf Hybrid?" She confirmed.
Niklaus nodded.
"Well? How do you break the curse?" The Hybrid pressed.
"I need to find a stone. It's called a Moonstone. With that, plus the blood of a Werewolf, Vampire and Doppelganger, I can unlock my Werewolf self."
"Well that shouldn't be too difficult." Rayna shrugged.
Niklaus shuffled where he sat.
"There's more... Isn't there?" She more stated than asked.
Niklaus nodded. "The bit I was afraid of telling you because I know how compassionate you are."
Rayna hesitated before her reply.
"What is it?" She asked.
The Original sighed. "I need to kill all three in the ritual."
Rayna's mouth hung open. She knew what the Original was capable of, but she never thought he'd do it for his own selfish gain.
"What's so wrong with being 'just a Vampire'?" She asked.
"I've spent my entire life feeling like an outsider to my family. I want become me. I want to feel whole. And the sooner I do that, the sooner I can build my own family. A family that will treat me how I deserve." Niklaus spoke sincerely.
Rayna thought about what she was going to say next. She had a feeling that this conversation could make or break them and that was the last thing she ever wanted.
"Am I not enough for you?" She whispered.
That broke Niklaus' heart. He never wanted to hurt her...
"You're the woman I love, Rayna." He clutched her hand tighter. "But you're with my brother and every time I see you together, it breaks my heart that little bit more. I don't know how long I can stand that for." "So you'd rather just leave me again to grieve you like you were dead? Because that is what I did, Niklaus. I thought I'd never see you again. Who cares if we're immortal? That, in no way, means that we were going to see each other again. Plus, Elijah and I both knew that finding yourself wasn't the only reason you left. We knew it was because of us, but that only fuelled my behaviour more. Don't make me grieve you again, Niklaus. I wouldn't survive that." A small tear escaped Rayna's eye and Niklaus reached up to catch it with the knuckle of his index finger.
"I need to do this, love." He whispered.
Rayna sighed and looked away, toward her window, wishing she could just fly away.
"I can't be supportive of selfish murder, Niklaus..."
Something in Niklaus snapped as she said those words. He grew cold and released her hand, balling his hand into a tensed fist.
"Fine." He growled, standing up to walk away, but wanted to make it final. "You know, news of your existence has been travelling quite vastly. Do you know what your own coven is calling you? A Heretic. You're an abomination to them. I hope you revel in that knowledge." And with that, he stormed out of the room, slamming Rayna's door behind him, making her jump.
Rayna looked back at her scroll, her eyes filled to the brim with fresh tears.
She knew she had just lost her best friend...
