Elena tried desperately to find an exit that didn't involve leaving the spell-protected cavern whilst Rebekah had left her alone to do who knew what.
"Elena! Let's pick it up where we left off." The Original Sister returned with a gas canister and a box of matches.
She threw some of the gasoline on Elena, soaking her, then poured some more around the cave in various spots.
"What are you doing?" Elena asked, backing away.
"Thought I'd shake things up a bit." Rebekah smiled.
"Are you insane?" The Doppelganger spat.
"I prefer spontaneous." The Original responded. "It's probably why Damon likes me so much."
She threw the gas canister at Elena, causing the Doppelganger to duck and the canister hitting the wall behind her. Rebekah pulled out a match.
"Here's what's gunna happen." She said, throwing the match into one of the gasoline puddles. "You're gunna come outside. Or you're going to stay in there and burn."
She continued to light matches and throw them into the puddles, the previous ones burning out gradually.
Rebekah pulled Elena's phone from her pocket, turning it on to video. "The next match is landing on you. So, Elena, how does it feel to know that these may be your last moments?" She asked, pointing the camera at the girl.
"I don't know, you tell me. You're the one who's mother's trying to kill you." Elena retorted.
"You should be very careful what you say to me." Rebekah snarled.
"You're still wearing her necklace." The Human pointed out, gesturing to the necklace that Stefan had originally given Elena, oblivious to the fact that it belonged to Esther originally.
"Do you want it? Is that your last request?" Rebekah scoffed, ripping the necklace off of her neck and throwing it at Elena. "Here. It's all yours."
"She's not doing this because she hates you, Rebekah. She told me that she... She just doesn't have another choice." Elena sighed.
"Spare me your pity, Elena. We're not girlfriends. Want me to prove it? Just say the word." Rebekah lit another match.
"You're not going to do it." Elena shook her head.
"And why's that?"
"Because there's still a chance that you might be alive tomorrow. And if that's the case and you kill me now, you'll have used up all of your revenge. Wasted it and isn't that what you want? Revenge? Because I- I pretended to like you and then I stuck a dagger in your back. I mean, that's why you slept with Damon, isn't it? That's why you're tormenting me, because I hurt your feelings." Elena nodded to herself.
Rebekah was caught up in her own thoughts, letting the match burn out, she dropped it.
"The tough act doesn't suit you." She snarled.
"I never said I was tough. But we both know that I'm right."At the Old Witch House, the cavalry was on its way.
"They're coming mother!" Finn called to Esther as Elijah, Niklaus and Kol approached.
"No, it's too soon! The moon is not high enough." Esther sighed, beginning to panic. She turned to the Bennett Witches. "Go, quickly."
Abby and Bonnie ran into the house just as the brothers got there.
"My sons. Come forward."
"Stay beside me, mother." Finn told her.
Esther walked into the pentagram.
"It's okay." She told her oldest son. "They can't enter."
Kol walked up to the pentagram, attempting to cross its borders. The torches flared up, knocking him back.
"That's lovely. We're stuck out here while the favourite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn." Kol spat.
"Be quiet, Kol. Your bother knows virtue you cannot even imagine." Esther retorted.
"Whatever you think of us, killing your own children will be an atrocity." Elijah told her.
"My only regret is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago." Esther sighed.
"Enough." Niklaus shouted. "All this talk is boring me. End this now, mother. Or I'll send you back to Hell."
"For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this Earth. Stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life, I'm sorry, you've wasted your time."In the house, Bonnie had lost Abby, only to be confronted with Stefan, instead.
"Stefan? What's going on?" She asked.
"They took Elena. They're going to kill her unless we stop Esther." The Vampire replied.
"Stefan... I – I can't stop her. She's channelling us!" Bonnie replied in a pleading tone.
"Bonnie, if you can't stop her, I have to find another way." Stefan looked at her apologetically.
The younger Witch slowly caught on to what he meant.
"No... Stefan, no." She begged, backing away.
She began to run, but Stefan Vamp sped and blocked her path.
"What are you gunna do? Even if you kill us, Esther's channelling every Witch in our ancestry – living and dead." Bonnie said.
"Esther's drawing from the Witches. The only way to cut her off is if one of you isn't a Witch anymore." Stefan explained.Upstairs, Damon had grabbed Abby and fed her his blood.
"This will only hurt a second." He told her.
Just as he was about to snap her neck, Rayna came out of nowhere and Vamp sped towards him, shoving him out of his footing, making him release the older Bennett Witch.
"Damon, don't." Rayna growled.
"I have to, Rayna. Elena will die." He looked at her with pleading eyes.
Rayna thought for a moment, then sighed heavily.
"She'd hate you if you did it." She said, then Vamp sped over to Abby and snapped her neck, dropping her body to the floor.
