Chapter Seventeen.

As the next morning dawned, Rayna took a moment to feed on and compel her head of staff before having a cup of tea and heading out to the Salvatore residence to meet this mysterious Ms Pierce.
"Ah, Rayna, you're finally here!" Damon beamed as he opened the front door.
"Good morning Damon." She chuckled, happily.
"Come in, come in. Stefan and I have a wonderful day planned." He smiled.
Rayna entered the house, waiting in the foyer with Damon for Stefan and Katherine to come downstairs.
Rayna found herself being able to hear the goings-on of upstairs.
"Good morning. Clear the room please." A female voice said.
Rayna swore she knew the voice, but couldn't picture the owner at all.
As the footsteps approached the stairs, she saw a dark skinned beauty who Rayna could only assume was the maid of this Katherine.
"You're upset." The female upstairs continued.
"Your face, it was like a demon." Stefan's voice came.
'What could he possibly mean by that?' Rayna thought to herself.
And then she realised... Katherine was a Vampire.
"But you're not afraid." Katherine said.
"Get away from me. Get away!" Stefan shouted as rapid movement could be heard through the floorboards.
Rayna debated Vamping up there to protect her friend.
"It doesn't change the way you feel about me. You will not tell anyone." Katherine compelled.
That confirmed it for Rayna.
Stefan began to say something before Katherine interrupted.
"Shh." She whispered. "We will go on exactly as we have."
"Yes. We will go on." Stefan replied in monotone.
Rayna's blood was boiling.
She wanted nothing more than to rip this Katherine's head off.
"You have no idea of the future I have planned for us, Stefan... You, me and Damon. No rules." Her voice sounded as though she was smiling. 

A few minutes later, Stefan came down, smiling and happy.
"Good morning brother." He smiled to Damon. "And good morning Rayna!"
"Someone's very chipper today." Rayna chuckled rather nervously.
"It's going to be a good day. I can feel it." Stefan replied, taking her by the shoulders before pulling her into a hug.
Just as Stefan parted from the Heretic, movement was heard by the three of them from upstairs.
As soon as she came into view, Rayna's body ran cold.
"Katerina..." She snarled.
"Rayna, might I introduce you to the illustrious Katherine Pierce." Damon smiled.
'Katherine' smiled as though this was her first meeting with Rayna, which only annoyed the Heretic even more.
Rayna faked a smile and delicately shook Katherine's hand.
"Rayna. What a pleasure to meet you. I've heard so much about you from the boys." She greeted, her voice sickeningly sweet.
"Katherine, is it? Believe me, the pleasure is all your's." Rayna gave an obviously fake smile.
"Oops, I mean mine, of course." The brothers looked as though the situation was getting awkward, and so the group moved to the gardens. 

After talking for an hour or so, Rayna decided to find out what the Vampiress was up to.
"Katherine, won't you accompany me to powder my nose?" She asked, sweetly.
Katherine gave a vile smirk as soon as she knew the brothers weren't looking.
"Of course I will Rayna. Damon, Stefan. We'll be back in a few minutes. Don't go anywhere, now." She faux-tutted at them as the two immortals left arm in arm.As soon as the washroom door was closed, Rayna wrapped her fingers around Katherine's neck, pinning her to the nearest wall.
"Katerina. How nice to see you again." She spat.
"Likewise, my love." Katherine choked out.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm making friends, of course. Don't you know? I'm just a poor, innocent orphan girl looking to make her mark on the world." Katherine pretended to pout.
"If I find out you're up to anything with those boys." Rayna growled.
"You'll do what? Murder their other best friend, breaking their sweet, fragile little hearts?" Katherine stuck out her bottom lip. "You won't do anything and you know it."
Rayna gave her neck one last Vamp strengthened squeeze before releasing her just as violently.
"You'd best stay out of my way, 'Katherine'." She snarled.
