Maritza says fast walking so to keep up with Gloria's pace.
"c'mon Mari, we can't be late you know they're up our asses"
Gloria says stopping to wait for her.
"why do you want Flaca to be with me so bad?"
Maritza asks with curiosity in her tone.
"because you're in love with each other, but instead of being together you're both acting like you don't feel anything for each other, you think you're fooling us but everyone knows, well besides you two."
Gloria says not looking at Maritza.
"look, Flaca is straight ok? she's in love with that Ian boy, and I've never been with a girl, she is kinda hot though. But no way."
Maritza tells her looking at her with sadness laced in her voice at the thought of Flaca being in love with a man who doesn't treat her like she should be treated.
"she's not in love with him. She never was Mari. We talked and she has dated but she has never been in love, well besides with you"
Gloria tells her as she gives a quick glance at the small latina's face, which was glowing with what she had just heard, but surprised at the same time.
"never? did she tell you she's in love with me?"
She asks now dying to know if her best friend was actually in love with her.
"well, no. but I see how she acts with you, all cheesy and shit. That's not the Flaca I know. The Flaca I know is whiny, and she doesn't give a fuck about anything or anyone. But when she's with you, when it comes to you. Things are different, you make her a better person, you get the real Flaca out of her, not the fake one we know and love, she lets down her defenses when she's with you. My question is are you in love with her?"
Gloria says with a raised eyebrow impatiently waiting for Maritza to answer her question, she wanted to them to be together cause she knew that they belonged, She just knew it. from the very beginning.
"okay first of all my girl Flaca is not whiny and she does give a fuck."
She was interrupted by a sigh from gloria
"she's not for you because she acts different when she's around you, she's herself with you. With us she puts up her walls and doesn't let anyone in. The only one she cares about more then she cares about herself is you Mari, how can you not see that? seriously it's so obvious even Blanca knows and that girl has no fucking idea of what's going on most of the time"
Gloria says starting to walk again as she didn't want to be late to her shift at the kitchen because it would lead to a shot.
"can't really blame her for not opening up with you, I mean I love them but god they got a big mouth. besides you, you're ok."
Maritza says looking at the ground walking next to Gloria.
"yeah, you do have a point there but hey, they idiots. You're not that stupid I can see that. You better then them and Flaca too. But they family Mari you know ohana and shit?"
Gloria says with a confused expression.
"awhh Lilo and Stitch? the cute little creature right?"
Maritza says with a little exictment laced in her voice.
"yeah, whatever my point is we don't know Flaca like you do and we don't know you like she does. And that's ok it's hard to trust someone in here I mean. look at these double faced bitches."
Gloria says looking at Ruiz.

"you didn't answer my question, are you in love with her?"
She says not looking at her.
"why would I tell you?"
She says with red cheeks starting to appear.
"cause I can help you dumbass, me and Flaca are pretty close ya know?"
Gloria says as she stops in front of the kitchen.
"yeah I know, I kinda am but I just don't want to admit it cause I know she don't feel the same and it only gonna hurt to have hope. But Gloria the way she makes me feel. I never felt like this honestly, she cares she's cheesy and romantic which I actually love in a relationship even if I don't look like that kind of girl, she's just perfect god damn it, I just want her so bad, not like that. I mean don't get me wrong I do want her like that too, really bad actually but I just want her to be mine ya know?"
Maritza says tears forming in her eyes breaking contact with Gloria.
Gloria lets out a hysterical laugh and between giggles she tells her.
"Flaca? not in love with you? honey did you see how the girl looks at you when you're not looking? I do. it's like red looking at the damn chicken!"
Maritza blushes knowing how much that chicken meant to red.
"I'll go get ready for the shift"
She shyly says and walks away from Gloria. Now her cheeks were on fire and she had a shy cute smile on her face.
She turns back to Gloria.
"hey, can we like keep this between us? I don't want anyone to know that I actually have a heart besides you and Flaca, at least not for now"
Maritza says hoping that Gloria will agree to keep her mouth shut.
"my lips are sealed."
Gloria says while giving the small Latina a reassuring smile.
"thanks."
She says about to turn away to begin her shift.
