It had been a while since Evie had come home but this weekend she was supposed to be back for Mari's birthday party. Gio and Naya were kind enough to let Milani and I have Mari's party at there place. Since Evie and I hadn't been on the same page I found myself talking with Milani more and more and even enjoying her company. Although I didn't forget what I knew about her I was just appreciative of her company. I know I shouldn't have texted Evie on some crazy shit but I was jealous.

Three days later

Today was the day of Mari's birthday and I was at Naya and Gio's home setting up with the help of Des, Tron, and will. "Everything is looking really good guys." Milani said smiling. The guys all looked at her not saying anything before they turned back to their designated tasks. "Really?" She said looking at me. "Yes. You came at my cousin so its fuck you until the end." Des said. Milani shook her head before going to help set up food. I turned and looked Des and he mugged me. "I don't want to hear shit." Des said. Since I had been back together with Milani the guys started talking shit more and they weren't holding back how they felt about her or us being together. "Can yall just chill out?" I asked. "Nah we can't. The shit she's said and did are unforgivable and the only reason she hasn't been touched is because she's Amara's mother and because of her relationship with her." Tron said. Tron really wasn't fucking with Milani after she came at Claire about being adopted and disrespecting Anaya. I sighed. "Just tell her to stop trying to talk with us like things are cool and we'll chill." Will said. I nodded my head.

After working for another two hours the birthday girl had come out and made her grand entrance. Everyone was going around wishing her a happy birthday and I couldn't have been happier. I was sitting with Claire and the guys when Mo, Freddy and Chelle came over. "Happy birthday, little mama." Chelle said hugging Amari. "Where's Evie?" Claire asked. "Right there." Freddy said pointing behind me. I turned seeing her smiling brighter then I had seen her smile in awhile. The fact that she was smiling at another nigga hurt. "Hey guys." She said hugging her sister. "Hi pumpkin." Evie said taking Mari from me. "Happy birthday, muffin." Evie cooed as she hugged on Mari.

"Who are you?" I asked causing the guy to chuckle. "You don't remember Raheem?" Chelle asked. "Raheem?" I asked looking at the guy. "What's up?" he said nodding his head. So, this was the nigga who was in all her snaps. "I see." I said nodding my head. "Can I talk to you?" I asked looking at Evie. "For what?" She said as she played with Mari. "Fine." She said handing Mari to Chelle.

"What?" I asked. "I'm sorry for my text. I know I was being alittle extra." Que said. "What the fuck were you on?" I asked. "I was jealous." He said plainly. "What for when I heard you and Milani are happy?" I said. He sighed. "Look I'm only with her cause I think she knows something about what happened with me." He I smacked my lips. "So how does fucking her go along with that?" I asked. He looked at me with wide eyes.

"Right so you can take your 'I was jealous' ass the fuck on. You saw I was chilling with a new nigga and you got nervous." I said. "Evie..." I held my hand up. "Let me finish." I said. "I don't think we're right for each other. When we were together I was happy but I wasn't as happy as I am now just doing my own thing. When we were together it was like we had to constantly force it." I said. "We can be friends but anything else I can't do it." He looked at me nodding his head wiping his hand over his face.

"I guess I understand." He said. We fell quiet just standing there for a while. "So you and Raheem, huh?" He said cracking a smile. "Shut up." I said rolling my eyes. "Even though we're not together you can talk to me. I want nothing but the best for you no matter who you're with." He said. I hugged him.

"What's going on over here?" Milani asked. I rolled my eyes. "If I were you I would run along." I said looking at her. "Evie..." "Milani I'm not trying to fuck up Mari's birthday but I will if you don't get out of my face." I said taking a step towards her only for Que to stand between us. "Evie go sit down." Que said. I scoffed rolling my eyes.

"He can't protect you from this ass whooping you got coming. Don't think I forgot what you said about my mama." I said. Speaking of my mama I saw her smiling as she talked to my aunt Jas and Erin. "Hi mommy." I said hugging her. "My baby." She said squeezing me tightly. I hugged my aunts before they started asking me questions. "We saw you talking with Milani." My Aunt Erin said. "I don't know why you let her come over. Especially after what she said about." My Aunt Jas said. "I was just letting her know she still has an ass... I mean..." "No gone ahead and finish it. She got a ass whooping coming and if any of her people got a problem we can handle it." My Aunt Jas said. "I'm only agreed to host the party for Que and Mari. Now if she would have caught me a couple years ago it would have been a different story." My mom said. I chuckled. "Naya she called you a hoe more than once. Not too mention she came at Claire and Evie. Then her uncle is Dimitri which means her family got ain't shit in her bloodline." My aunt Erin said. "Mama I get it you're a grown woman and a mother but for her to say that after everything you did for her." I paused. "I'm still going to lay hands on her. It's just a fact." I said with a shrug.

It was now dark outside and the party had died down and it was just the adults outside. I was sitting at the table when I saw Milani and her cousin walking towards us. "Why are they coming over here?" Chelle asked. "I don't know but one slick comment and it's a wrap." I said looking at Que. "Hey baby." Milani said sitting on Que's lap. "Hey Rah." She sang. I raised an eyebrow as I eyed her. "Raheem." He said. "What?" Milani said. "Don't call me Rah." Raheem said. "So how you been Raheem?" Milani asked. "I been chilling." He said keeping it short.

I looked at Que chuckling as I shook my head. It was obvious Milani's attention was turning to Rah. "Let's go inside." Rah said as he stood up. He looked down at me holding his hand out. I grabbed his hand before I got up and we walked inside. "What's wrong?" My dad asked stopping us. "I did my good deed for the day and if I stay out here any longer I'm going to jail." I said hugging him. "Who are you?" my dad asked looking at Rah. "Raheem, sir." My dad raised an eyebrow looking at him before looking at me. "It's nice to see you again." He said. We continued towards the house only to hear my dad yell, "KEEP YOUR DOOR OPEN!!" I rolled my eyes while Rah laughed. "He always thinks I'm up to something." I said as we walked upstairs.
