colors of blue and pink swirl around in the sky; lighting up the city from below.

the purple clouds scatter across the sky moving slowly, pushing a gust of wind above the earth's surface each minute.

my arms cross each other keeping heat con-trapped in the blue sweat i'm wearing to keep me warm from the cold gust.

back and forth my feet go as it moves my body forwards and backwards on the roof of the house.

my hair blows in the wind softly, pushing the brunette hair out of my face and behind my head.

steps are heard behind me as the sound of a click too.

i ignore it as it may be my dad trying to talk to me over from what happened today.

the person sits down beside me as he sighs while looking at the sunset.

"i'm sorry."

i turn my head to the right, seeing ethan sitting beside me looking down at his thumbs fiddle around on his lap.

my heart beat raises as my eyes widen at the second.

i'm completely frozen. not knowing what to do or say.

my cold hands unravel from each other, putting them on the roof, and helping me stand up.

"alexis please." ethan begins.

"you don't even know me." i told him.
"how'd you even get here?"

he sat up and walked over to me, "your dad let me in."

a heavy sigh comes from my mouth as i shake my head, "i don't get you."

ethan grabs ahold to my cold wrists, "just please forgive me."

i scoffed, "you don't understand what you did to me today." i said yanking my wrist from his grip, "plus yesterday."

the boy began to follow me as i went back into my warm and lighted bedroom since it's freezing outside and the sun has went down.

he sat down on a box and continued to talk. "here me out-"

"for what?" i interrupted. "hurting an innocent new girl?!"

"no!" he yelled, startling me a bit. "i'm stressed, okay?!"

ethan ran his hands through his dark chocolate hair, pulling it a bit.

i dart my eyes over at him from afar, "that's not an excuse."

he sighed, "i know it's not." ethan said shifting his feet.

"then get to the point." i said crossing my legs together.

he looked at me then held his hands together, "i just won't hurt you anymore."

that sentence gave me chills down my spine.

"you promise?" i raised my eyebrows at him.
