2 week later
*ethans pov*

it's been about two weeks since alexis has talked to me.

every time i try to talk to her, she ignores me or tells me to shut up.

it hurts a bit.

she's made me happy. the happiest i could have ever been for years.

brought me up.

i've been sober for at least a month and a half to two months.

she did that. she made me not think negative.

it's been hard. school was great. my grades was doing the best they've been this whole year.

the teachers has seen me slacking though.

maybe this time i could try without her by my side?

alexis has taught me to be independent. i can do it.

my foot taps aggressively on the ground from being so anxious.

we have a test today in calculus.

it was never my best subject.

i stayed up all night studying for it. for multiple tests.

the teacher walks down isle by isle handing each student the test.

"you all have until the end of the period to finish this test." he spoke up in front of the classroom.

my fingers divided individually between the pencil, starting to write out the equations.

45 minutes later

the school bell rang signaling students that the last period of the day she came to an end.

students started packing up their things and walking out of the classroom door, me shortly following after.

the teacher soon stopped me before walking out of the classroom.

"yes?" i asked raising my eyebrows. nervous of what he might say or ask.

"did you even study on the test?"

i nodded my head.

the teacher shook his head, surprised at my response.

"go ahead." he told me.

my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. walking out of the classroom into halls.

from the corner of my eye i spotted alexis grabbing her books out of her locker.

she looked up at me, minding her own business.

as much as i want to talk to her. she'll just ignore me.

so i continue my way down the hall, ignoring her presence.

caileys arm swings around my waist, kissing me on the cheek.
