-The Interview-

DJ Envy: "Yo, yo, yo its DJ Envy with The Breakfast Club on power 105.1 we have special guests with us this morning August Alsina and Jhene Aiko! Two upcoming artist working with a big producer our very own Jay Z some of you may know him as H to the izz-O... V to the izz-A.

We have some questions to get a little inside the lives of the new singers who voices are amazing. It's a fresh sound to the music industry and I think will be a unique addition for R&B."

Yee: "Okay August lets start with you first. I already know the ladies are going to be crazy over you. Watch out for the little hot things you young, cute, and can sing. I'm sure the girls listening right now are curious about the type of women you like. I sense it now somebody going to want to take you home to mama if they get the chance."

The female radio host made the entire room of people burst out laughing. But she was just telling the truth because August will more than likely is a ladies man. "Lets save that topic for last but I want to start asking you some questions."

Yee: I already know your father name was August

August: *looks surprised* How ya know that?

Yee: *laughs* we do our research

August: Oh okay yeah I'm a Jr but I never really knew ma pops like that he passed away durin' the Katrina times.

Charlamagne: Were you born in the month of August?

August: Nah ma pops name was August and ma grandfather too but he don't have the same middle name.

Charlamagne: So that would make you the third then

Yee: No it doesn't you got to have the same first and middle name

Charlamagne: Okay gotcha

Yee: Normally people would start at a very young age or have somebody in their family who can play the musical instrument or have any musical connection. But you didn't have any of that.

August: Not at all *rubs chin*

Yee: How did you know you could sing?

August: I didn't know honestly I was watchin' and nobody believes me when I tell them this but I was watching Sister Act 2. *smiles* I heard Lauryn Hill singing and after I said I wanted to do that I just started doin'it and never stopped.

Yee: Were you good right away?

August: *shakes head* Not at all

Charlamagne: You got to have a little bit of the pipes.

August: Yeah somewhat of it. But for the small time I was around ma pops I kind of remember him hummin' a little bit. So it could come from him I don't know I just don't know.

Charlamagne: You the first person I heard you were influenced positively by a movie. Most black kids are like oh I saw Juice then I bought me a 38, saw New Jack City wanted to sell tracks, saw Scarface wanted to buy a key.

August: I mean that too

Yee: You had those influences too though

August: Fa sho

Yee: I mean I was reading up on you because I didn't know a lot about you. I learned some different things about you growing up in New Orleans it was pretty rough for you. You said you had an older brother you use to run with and you got kicked out the house at an early age. When you said your brother passed away that is what made you decide to sing?
