Nicolé
I was dancing to Erykah Badu her music really speaks to your soul. In the mist of a half turn I collided into a set of strong arms. I opened my eyes to see Jay with this smile that look like he won an award.
"Whatever happened to knocking?" I asked releasing myself from his grip to pull my shorts down.
"I'm not sure if this was a bad time or not he asked with the smile still etched on his face."
"You always catch me at the wrong time maybe if you knock I could have time to redeem myself before you enter the room." His laughter filled my ears echoing off the walls.
"I'm serious." I admitted punching him playfully in the arm not realizing how much strength I used.
"Damn Ni-Ni you hit like a nigga."
"Good." A smirk appeared on my face while walking over to my bed to lie down.
"So you want to hurt me on purpose?" He sat on the edge of the bed causing me to quickly push him off.
"Don't sit there I'm a huge germaphobe I need to know you showered before you can be anywhere near my clean sheets and comforter." Jay looked at be oddly but didn't question it further.
"My bad I'm sorry."
"No it's fine you didn't know I shouldn't have reacted that way."
"There are no hard feelings it's all good. I just hope you don't do your surprise like that."
"Surprise? What did you get me?" I'm not a fan of surprises.
"Hold on you got to close your eyes first." I kissed my teeth huffing slightly
"Why can't I keep them open?"
"Come on Ni-Ni the quicker you close them the faster you'll find out what it is." This was the second time he called me Ni-Ni. I'm not sure where he picked up on the nickname but I don't know how I feel about it. There was only one person who gave me a nickname that was Lola the household I grew up in my parents never liked nicknames. "Are you going to close them or nah?"
"I'll take nah for 200 I'm kidding."
"No peeking either."
"Okay hurry up." I heard him leaving the room then came back in.
"You can open them now." When I did I saw a puppy in his arms.
"Who's this cute little fella?"
"This is your puppy I asked Dr. Brown and he agreed it could help with recovering. That day we watched a movie I notice you have bad dreams so I figured he can keep you company."
"Awww Jay this is the nicest thing anyone has done for me." My eyes started tearing up but I wouldn't cry in front of Jay.
"Don't mention it but this little guy needs a name. I would have named him but he's your dog so it's only right."
"Umm. I think imma call him Supa." I said rubbing his head.
"Alright Supa it is."
"Thank you again Jay I appreciate it."
"You're welcome imma get going. He said checking the time on his watch. "I need to get my life together before my next practice."
"Oh yeah good luck on your photoshoot but from the looks of it you don't need much luck." He winked closing the door leaving me with my new baby. I'm not sure if I should mistake his last comment as flirting or a compliment. Jay is surely unpredictable I wonder if he had any past girlfriends he was this nice to.
