A/N - This is inspired by the Broadway Backwards version of Sixteen Going On Seventeen since I was watching it earlier. Link - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aQE2ycuoyM0

You wait for Rolf near the gazebo in the pouring rain, and soon he arrives.
"Rolf!" you hug him as he arrives and you sit in the gazebo with him, "I've missed you. Have you missed me?"
"Why yes. I even thought of sending you a telegram so I could deliver it to you," he says.
"Oh, Rolf, that's a lovely thought. If only we didn't have to wait for someone to send Father a telegram. How do I know when I'll see you again," you say.
"I could come by here with a telegram from Colonel Schneider! He's here from Berlin... I've said too much, I'm worried for your father."
"You don't have to worry about him, he's a big naval hero. He was even decorated by the emperor."
"Well then, I worry about his daughter, you're so..."
"What?"
"Well, you're a baby.
"I'm not a baby!" you jump up from your seat. He pushes you back down.
"You wait, little girl, on an empty stage for fate to turn the light on. Your life, little girl, is an empty page that men will want to write on," he says.
"To write on..."
"You are sixteen going on seventeen, baby, its time to think. Better be ware, be canny and careful. Baby, you're on the brink. You are sixteen going on seventeen, fellows will fall in line. Eager young lads and routes and cads will offer you food and wine. Totally unprepared are you to face a world of men. Timid and shy and scared are you of things beyond your ken," you try to get up but he pulls you back, "you need someone older and wiser telling you what to do. I am seventeen going on eighteen. I'll take care of you."
"I can take care of myself. I am sixteen going on seventeen, I know that I'm naïve. Fellows I meet may tell me I'm sweet, and willingly I believe. I am sixteen going on seventeen, innocent as a rose. Bachelor dandies, drinkers of brandies, what do I know of those? Totally unprepared, am I, to face a world of men? Timid and shy, and scared am I of things beyond my ken," you trip and Rolf helps you up, "I need someone older and wiser telling me what to do. You are seventeen, going on eighteen, I'll depend on you," you reluctantly say.

He smiles and takes your hand and you start to dance until you hear someone shout for you. You both look at the house, and then at each other. Rolf kisses you and runs off. You open your eyes and watch him run off before turning to face the music.
