New At Court - Six - Katherine Howard x Reader

It's your first day at The Court Of The Theatre. You're dying to meet the rulers of the court, the six queens. You have to admit, you've had a bit of a crush on Katherine Howard for a while, but you don't expect anything to come of it. After all, she's a queen, and you're new in court.

You finally arrive, just in time for the dance. As you are escorted to the main hall, you can hear music blaring from the main hall. Your heart beats quicker and you feel nervous as you walk in the door. The party is in full swing, and you stand at the door in awe for a moment. Then, from across the room, you catch Katherine's eye. She smiles and runs towards you.

"Hey, you must be new here! My name is Katherine," she says, excitedly.
"I'm (Y/N)," you say, a little stunned.
"Come on, enjoy the party," she grabs your hand and pulls you into the room. She stops in the middle of the dance floor, and you start dancing with her. You're  a little nervous at first, but you're soon getting down to the music. You're having an amazing time with Katherine, just as you'd hoped. And she seems to be having fun as well. However, the other queens have been throwing you suspicious glances for a while. You're not quite sure why, but you don't let it bother you. They're probably just wondering who you are.

"Hey, do you want something to drink?" Katherine asks you.
"That'd be really nice," you say, "I think I'm gonna get off the dance floor for a while as well. I'm a bit tired."
"Travelling? We'll find you somewhere quiet to sit," she replies. She takes your hand again and leads you off the dance floor. She leads you to a corridor nearby the party room and leaves you to get drinks.

A few moments after Katherine leaves you, you hear Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn talking outside the corridor. You sneak a little closer to hear what they are saying.
"Katherine's been hanging out with that new girl all night," Anne says.
"Who is she? I've never seen her before," Catherine replies.
"If I had to guess, maybe an ex, trying to rekindle their relationship."
"That would make sense. She has been really nice to that girl all night, and this is Katherine we're talking about. I'm sure she has some we don't know of."
"And I'm sure anyone would come running back to Katherine at any given opportunity. I wonder if we'll get to meet her soon. And who she'll be introduced as."
"Come on, let's go back to the party. I think the others might want to hear this."
You watch the two of them leave, and sit back down, feeling defeated. Is that what they think of you? An old flame? You're not. You just wish it was like that between you.

"Hey, (Y/N). I got the drinks," Katherine appears before you, and sees the upset look in your eyes.
"Hi."
"What's up?" she puts the drinks down beside her and sits next to you.
"I heard Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn talking. They think I'm your ex who just wants to start the relationship again."
"That's awful! They know all of them!" she says, a little angry.
"I just don't want them to think of me like that."
She kisses your cheek.
"I promise you they won't," she says reassuringly, "you wanna get back to the party?"
"I guess..."
"Come in, I'll introduce you to Jane. You'll like her."
You follow Katherine back into the party.

After a while, you and Jane Seymour are happily dancing away. You look around for Katherine, and finally spot her, arguing with Catherine and Anne. You're not quite sure what's going on, but you try to take your mind off it. After all, you're having a fun time with Jane.

A few minutes later, Katherine comes back and Jane leaves you, sensing that Katherine wants you alone.
"So, I spoke to Catherine and Anne," she says, "I think I've set the record straight."
"Thank you."
"So, party's dying out a bit, you want a tour of the castle?"
"Okay."

Katherine grabs your hand and pulls you out of the party and around the castle for what feels like hours, until she finally reaches your new bedroom.

"This is where you'll be staying while your here," she says, "I'm gonna head back to the party, I think I have some royal duties to attend to."
"Okay."
"I'll see you tomorrow," Katherine says. She plants a quick kiss on your lips, that lingers a little too long, and wanders off. You quickly run into your room and giggle a little. You think she likes you back. Happy, you fall into your bed and dream about a potential future together.
