A poem that I wrote on the card of the flowers I gave to my girl last Valentine's day. The flowers were blue Iris and red Tulip, thus the title!
I got you these flowers,
To show you the meaning,
Raw emotional power,
Has me careening.
I'm so lost in you,
I don't want to get out.
To show you I'm true,
And my heart is devout,
I got you blue iris,
The flora of faith.
I don't want to hide this,
It just feels too great.
And red Tulips too,
So you can believe,
What I say is the truth,
You're perfect for me.
I love the way you talk,
Your sideways smile I adore.
I love the way you walk,
And always end up wanting more.
I love the way you are,
So true and bold.
You are my perfect star,
One I always want to hold.
You are a shining light,
In my dark and lonely world.
So fantastic and bright,
My stomach's a-whirl.
I hope that you smiled,
And thought fondly of me.
