"Peeling My Feelings"

A poem I wrote for my girlfriend.

Shelly you inspire me,

Light afire desire in me.

When I see your pretty face,

And when our eyes begin to chase,

In haste my heart begins to race,

And pace at all your clumsy grace.

I find you adorable,

Nothing in you deplorable.

Nothing in you that I could hate,

Because you're great beyond debate.

I can't find a way to say,

What I may from day to day.

Anything that I can think of,

Sounds cliche and on the brink of,

Being cheesy and stupid too,

So I'll just say that I like you.

I like the way you talk,

The clumsy way you walk.

I like the cutest way you smile,

And being near you for a while.

I like it when you're close,

And when you're kissing me the most.

But I like this most of all,

You love who you are,

And you stand up proud and tall.

You won't let someone else,

Be a changing force to you.

You rely upon yourself,

And don't care what others do.

I like your personality,

An art at halting fallacies.

So bold, true and fantastic,

Anything but plastic.

Wonderful and real,

To have you is a steal.

I wrote you this poem,

To let you know my feelings.

You have grown upon me,

And my layers are peeling,

Away...
