Short and sweet,
Our eyes meet.
Loners entranced,
But restrain their heat.
Hold it back,
Gain your bearing.
Take a seat,
And quit your swearing.
Need to gain,
Perspective.
Help me maintain,
Neglected.
Like acid rain,
Unexpected.
Don't need more pain,
Corrected.
But it's worth the risk,
Even if you're brisk.
Even if we don't touch,
Your hands are missed.
It's so natural,
This feeling I have.
But is it factual?
Doubt stabs and stabs.
Can't return your gaze,
At cost.
Like a garden maze,
I'm lost.
Like a homeless daze,
I balked.
I am just amazed,
I can walk.
The shards of my heart,
Untwinkling.
Dead and apart,
Unthinking.
But this lonely love's,
Unblinking.
Can't stop it,
Don't want to.
Can't return it,
Like you do.
But if I want it bad enough,
Will the heavens call my bluff?
Will they send her to my breast,
And make me forget about the rest?
