I'm on the edge,
A rotting ledge.
A burning hedge,
Must find my head.
I want to break,
But it's far too late.
Can't fight my fate,
It's latched on too great.
It's in front of me,
So clear to see.
Returning violently,
Against my misery.
I've hoped so long,
It felt so wrong.
But I'm feeling strong,
Should have known all along.
Boiling with fear,
As the time draws near.
Nobody will hear,
What I hold dear.
Won't accept defeat,
No matter the heat.
We can't be beat,
No matter the feat.
I want to keep,
What's under skin deep.
What never comes cheap,
And requires a leap.
The faith in me,
And the faith in you,
Will make them see,
That we are the truth.
Can't seem to find,
A room in my mind,
That doesn't have you.
Don't know what to do.
I can't escape my feelings,
But I hope they're healing.
Heal the place in me,
I won't let the world see.
This feels like a dream,
Like I'm caught in a seam.
The sweetest of all, it seems.
But what does this feeling mean?
Is it only forbidden fruit,
That caught your eye my dear?
Or is it truly cupid's root,
That made our feelings clear?
I don't know all the answers,
Or the cause of all this fuss.
But through our mindless banter,
It seems we built a trust.
Trust me when I say,
I won't hurt you.
I believe in you,
And trust that you,
Know what to do.
I'm here to hold you,
If you need me there.
I refuse to fold you,
We make a perfect pair.
