Ch.33

Harley's pov.

Carter flew back with Aj and I to North Carolina.

We dash into the hospital entrance. On a bench was my father. I run up to him.

"Daddy" I shout earning attention from strangers.

He looks up at me with glossy eyes just like me. I cried half the plane ride.

Aj and Carter follow and sit down next to him.

"What happened Dad" I am able to speak.

"We were riding our bikes to the house after that long motorcycle convention and your mother accidentally ran a red light. A car rammed right into her. I've been here all night sitting in this waiting room" he says.

I tear up a bit and Carter hugs me.

We sit in silence for about 10 minutes.

"Family for Diana" a nurse says.

We all look up.

"She's now expecting visitors" the nurse tells us.

We thank her and stand up.

"Crap, what about Addie" my dad mentions.

"I haven't seen her in forever. Mary has been watching her for quite a while. We have to let her see mom." I say.

"I'll go pick her up" Carter says.

"You'd do that?" I ask.

"Absolutely, I'll be back soon" he leaves after I hug and thank him.

We walk into my moms room and see her laying on the bed.

She lifts her head a little.

"Hi sweetie" she manages to say.

"Hi" I croak softly.

I sit down next to her.

"Son, do you want to go with me to get something to eat and leave them alone for a bit" my dad asks Aj who hasn't said a word.

"Sure" Aj replies.

They leave and I stare at my scratched, bruised, and wrapped up mother.

"Harley I'm so sorry I was never there for you," she starts to cry " I never got to see you grow up. I love you"

"I love you too mom" I hold her hand and start to cry.
