Chapter 2

Serena's pov. Sunday, August 12th Part 2.

I land in slateport city, I get off the plane and head straight to the pokemon center. I walk up to the counter.

"Excuse me but, do you know when and what city the next pokemon contest is taking place?" I ask.

"Yes, it's taking place the day after tomorrow here in slateport. You can sign up at the stadium down the street from here." Nurse Joy says.

"Thank you, could I also get a room here for the next few days?" I ask.

"We only have a group room left would you like it?" Nurse Joy asks.

"Yes, thank you." I say. She sets the key on the desk infront of me.

"This is the key to the last room we have room number 5, and you're welcome." She says I head upstairs and look at the room it has 3 beds. I set my stuff down next to one of them, I set up the picture we took with Korrina, then only grab my pokeballs, small bag then head out. I sign up for the contest then head back to the pokemon center since it's getting dark. I step inside.

"Nurse Joy, could we get a room, please?" A brunette asks with a bluenette next to her both with large bags in their hands, and a piplup by the bluenette's side.

"I'm sorry I gave away my last room earlier today." She says.

"Thank you." The girls say before turning around and walking towards the door with the piplup.

'I can't just leave them my room has two extra beds.' I thought to myself, as I went to stop them.

"Hey I couldn't help over hear your dilemma, I have two extra beds in the room I'm staying in, if you want them they are yours." I say as I stop them.

"Really you would do that for two strangers?" The bluenette asks.

"Yeah, I'd feel bad if you two had too stay outside knowing that I could do something about it." I say.

"Thank you...." the brunette says trailing off.

"Serena, my name is Serena, and you are?" I question.

"I'm May and this is my best friend Dawn, and piplup." The brunette says and gestures to the bluenette beside her. I shake both their hands.

"Lup" the piplup says.

"Follow me." I said they nod I walk up to the desk.

"Can I have two extra keys to room number 5. Please." I ask. She nods.

"Here you go." She hands me the keys.

"Thank you." I say as I take the keys.

"You're welcome." She says as she gets back to work I turn to the girls and hand them the keys before walking up to the room and unlocking the door they both claim a bed for themselves. May starts looking around the room before her eyes land on the picture frame on the nightstand next to the bed I claimed earlier, she walks up to it and looks closer.

"That's definitely Ash." May says out loud.

"Yeah we took that in Kalos." I respond.

"What a coincidence May traveled with him through this region and I traveled with him through Sinnoh." Dawn says.

"Man he has grown up since I last saw him 2 years ago." May says.

"He is still a kid at heart." I say as my face flushes.

"Do you like him?" Dawn asks.

"Aww, does Sere have a crush on Ash." May says. My face turns a shade of red that would put a tamato berry to shame.

"W-whats w-with the ni-nickn-name?" I stuttered.

"Oh I just thought it fit if you don't like it I'll stop." May says.

"No, It just suprised me. You're actually not the first person to call me that an old friend I haven't seen in about eight years used to call me that." I say.

"So do you lik-" May gets cut off by her own stomach.

"Want to finish this conversation after dinner? I'll make it." I ask attempting to change the subject.

"Sure." They say I start making food. Once I finish I set the food on the table I also made poke puffs and pokemon food.

"What are those?" Dawn asks as May takes one I laugh as she bites into it and her eyes turn to stars.

"They are poke puffs, for the pokemon but, safe for people to eat, first time I made them for Ash he did the exact same thing." I say.

"Oh then they are similar to poffins then." Dawn says as May finishes of the poke puff she was eating, I let out Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon. I give them their food and a poke puff each.

"Guys this is May, Dawn, and piplup." I introduce.

"Brai" Braixen says.

"Pan" Pancham says.

"Sylv" Sylveon says.

"This is Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon." I say.

"Nice to meet you three." Dawn and May say.

"Pip" piplup says.

"Come on out guys." May says as she throws 4 pokeballs. A Beautifly, Skitty, Munchlax, and Glaceon.

"I would let out Blaziken and Blastiose but, they are too tall and would poke through the roof. Sorry Guys." May says.

"We could always have a picnic that way they all can be out." I suggest we take them all out and have a picnic in a park near the pokemon center. May lets out Blaziken and Blastiose.

"Blaze" Blaziken says.

"Blast" Blastiose says.

"Come on out guys" Dawn yells as she throws 5 pokeballs. A Buneary, Pachirisu, Mamoswine, Typhlosion, and Togekiss come out. With everyone out we all eat and Braixen, Pancham, Sylveon and I were introduced to their Pokemon.

"So Serena what did you do while traveling with Ash, did you battle the gyms, do contests, or what?" May asks.

"I was a pokemon preformer, and competed in Pokemon Showcases, which Ash told me were similar to contests which is why I am here maybe this will give me the skill to beat Aria and become Kalos Queen." I say.

"So you are going to be competing in your first contest, May and I will be competing in the next contest to don't think we will go easy on you because of your hospitality." Dawn says in a playful tone.

"I wouldn't dream of it." I say.

"So what's the difference between Contests and Pokemon Showcases." May asks.

"While contests have you show off your pokemon's moves in the first round and then battle in the second, to earn 5 ribbons, in order to complete in the Wallace cup, and have 3 judges. In Pokemon Showcases the first round is between 3 contestants and can be anything from making clothes to making poke puffs, and the second round is showing off your pokemon's skills, the croud votes on who goes on to the next round, and compete for princess keys once you have 3 you can compete in the master class, which is similar to the Wallace cup, the winner gets to face off against the Kalos Queen, if they win they are declared the new Kalos Queen till someone can beat them." I say. We continue our discussion then return our pokemon and head to bed.
